Gunnar Roads Band

Gunnar Roads was born August 18, 1994. Soon after laying his fingers on his first guitar at the age of 9, it became clearly evident that Gunnar had some natural ability. Over the years, Gunnar has studied, practiced, and worked hard at developing his talent as a guitarist, singer, and performer. Along the way he has had the good fortune of making friends with some outstanding like-minded musicians. The Gunnar Roads Band continues to build its reputation as a serious young band entertaining audiences at popular festivals and other well attended venues throughout the Northwest. Over the past couple of years the Gunnar Roads Band has had the opportunity to headline many popular events, as well as open up for well known regional and national talents like: Ellen Whyte, Norman Sylvester, Geoffrey Castle, Randy Oxford, Henry Cooper, Patrick Lamb, Sista Monica, and Sugar Pie. The 2007 performance season was hugely successful with shows at venues like: the Rogue Valley Blues Festival, the Florence Rhododendron and Chowder Festivals, the Eugene Celebration, the Mt. Rainier Music for the Mountain Festival, the Portland Waterfront Blues Festival, and the Portland Music Awards. A highlight of the year for the Gunnar Roads Band was being nominated for a 2007 Cascade Blues Association Muddy Award for "Best New Act", while a personal highlight for Gunnar Roads was also being nominated for a 2008 Portland Music Award for "Outstanding Achievement in Blues". This is one genuinely talented band of young musicians who are now well into another great year full of noteworthy performances.
