Morin ~ moe • ran
I play and sing Ballads, Blues and Heartbroke Laments.
Generally genre non-specific, I archive, treasure and exhibit mid-20th Century Standard American Popular Songs of love, romance and dramatic introspection. I make every effort to present the American Popular Song as stylelessly and guilelessly as possible in its pure lyrical and melodic detail. I think that may even be a sentence.
I've played the guitar for nearly 50 years and the harmonica for 40. I wrote a song about 10 years ago and two more in '07 so I can tentatively add Songwriter to my long list of labels. My checkered past includes skippering a tugboat on The San Francisco Bay, sinking boats as a brownwater river sailor with the Vietnamese Navy and earning a BFA in Design from CalArts.
If you think you MIGHT can do it,
you jus' might go on an' DO it!
If you think you cain't, you RIGHT!
Don't try, 'cause you CAIN'T!
