About Me

.. CDBABY LINK for BARBARA NESBITT: A Million Stories --
Singer/songwriter Barbara Nesbitt, new to San Diego from her home in Virginia, has been captivating loyal friends and fans for many years. In Virginia, she supplied the vocal energy for the groove-oriented band, Rare Daze and brought her own original songs and sound to the rock band, Cradle. She also allied with fellow guitar player/singer/songwriter, Bernie Lee, in the acoustic duo, Perpetrators. She was nominated for several local music awards in Virginia, taking second place in the female songwriter of the year category, and first place as the acoustic performer of the year. She has shared stages with/opened for such artists as Bonnie Raitt, Lyle Lovett, Jerry Garcia Band, Nickel Creek, Meredith Brooks, Robert Earl Keen, Hootie and The Blowfish, Keller Williams, Alana Davis, Lisa Loeb, Widespread Panic, and more.
Since arriving in San Diego, she has been joined by Bill Coomes (drummer/singer with Deadline Friday), Mike Spurgat (guitarist/singer with Deadline Friday and Citizen Band), and Miss Marcia Claire (bass player with Citizen Band and countless others) and is focusing on her original music. They, along with some surprise guests have just finished recording her debut album, "A Million Stories", at Jeff Berkley's, studio, Miracle Recording. She has also been recording and performing with the legendary Tim Flannery and will be appearing with him at some upcoming concerts. She was nominated for a San Diego H.A.T. Award, and won the San Diego Music Scene Cream of the Crop singer/songwriter competition.
Quotes
Nesbitt...seems to be honing her own style. And its refreshing to hear a debut that boasts so many accomplished songs with such a keen sense of purpose and personality -- George Varga, San Diego Union Tribune
In a sultry, sugary, softly gritty voice competition, she'd give Bonnie Raitt a run for her money...her vocal cords ring like gold -- Ollie, San Diego Reader
“A Million Stories”, is blissfully free from any traces of obtrusive influences that would soil this heavenly music. This is simply a girl with a tremendous, angelic voice singing wonderfully crafted songs while backed by a band that never once strays from the goal of selflessly supporting the music -- Craig Yerkes, San Diego Troubadour
With a stop-in-your-tracks voice and captivating style, Barbara is already on her way to becoming a local favorite -- Laura Kuebel, San Diego Troubadour
Vibrantly creative -- Jeff Maisey, The Virginian Pilot
Nesbitt has a voice that belies her young face, strong and mature, and sweet. -- Monette Austin, The Music Monitor
Barbara Nesbitt could be the phoenix of the local music scene. Like the mythical Greek creature, the former vocalist for Rare Daze has emerged from the ashes of her old band and is now flying high with her latest project -- John Miller, Rock Flash Magazine
[Barbara] has the ability to belt out a song and whether she be singing solo lead or sharing harmonies has a totally mesmerizing style -- Doreen Humes, Nine-Volt Magazine
