INTRODUCTION BY VICKIE 05/23/07PHOTOS OF MY NEW GRANDSON BORN ON 5/30/07, MY DIGS, MY DOGS, BRAND NEW ONES OF MY MOTHER AND GRANDSON AND ME TOO! THE ONES THAT ARE BLURRY ARE FROM 05/23/07 AND ON 05/24/07 SUN WAS JUST AT SUNSET. THEY ARE IN THE SLIDESHOW AS WELL AS MY PICS.ABOUT ME: I want you to make yourself at home here and feel comfy. If there is something that you would like to see up, please email me. I like new ideas! The music playlist is me--past and present or as a friend of mine, Rob Barsky of Future Music, wrote "I'm a composite of my every experience." It tells who I am and what I like and in a way, what I am like. The past along with what I have learned in life is who I am today! I feel like the most fortunate person in the world to have made it through and be here! Life can be rough, but all we can do is do the best we can, have courage, face it and do what we can to make it better! There are some things we cannot change. I faced adversity and I did it with courage and it did not leave me heartless. I checked and so far, my heart beats and I am capable of forgiveness! I look back and while I might have regrets about bad decisions (I don't know many people who have not made bad decisions at one point or another in their life), that's how we learn and grow (others may not, but I do). I have taken the past and it has meshed into my life to make me who I am today...and personally I think it is a pretty nice person! Through trials and tribulations (probably more than a normal individual), I feel like I can empathize and sympathize with an open mind and open heart and am always willing to listen. I have emotions...I laugh...I cry...I get my feelings hurt...I get angry...but all those things are just part of the whole human element and we do get over those emotions, usually very quickly! At least I know I am human. Music helped me through the down times and made me roll with the up times! My playlist does not include the classical or jazz that I so thrive on also--at least as yet! It is so much fun putting these things together, BUT IF YOU WANT TO GET TO KNOW ME, look to the music I play. It will change intermittently unless I find an unlimited playlist! :) I left out the disco era, but THAT also was a part of my life. I used to do those back drops at least FOUR nights a week! Donna Sumner was great as were so many great disco groups. I can still do that. Picture me at a good opera or at the symphony perhaps up at The Kennedy Center. That will give you insight into who I am and where I've been! I can relate music to different times in my life, both good and bad and can probably tell you what I was doing when I first heard any good song! I am strong, YET I still have heart and soul. I use my experience to help others and can proudly say that I know I touch people's lives in a positive manner. That took a long time to happen. No more baggage and even though not everything is perfect in my life, there will be no more baggage!
Okeeeeee...I am Vickie. Welcome! I am a true redhead (strawberry blonde), feisty they say, and currently live at Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia in a lakefront home, but this is only temporary. My heart is at the ocean--the sea, but it is beautiful where I am living and serene living only a stone's throw from the lake. I have much to do at the lake as far as personal possessions and taking care of what's here, which is why I moved here, to alleviate unnecessary travel. It is easy to regroup here and I love watching all the lake activity, which is heavy in the summertime. It has already started! I look out the window and I see the fish jumping out of the water too and I want to be down there with my fishing pole!I am a petite 5 feet 4 inches tall, 110 pounds, and am a very outgoing individual (not an introvert) with lots of energy. My life has recently taken on some major changes and I am hoping that these changes will even enhance who I am. I am a day person and night person, but not an early morning person (you have to sleep some time!). I have lived from California right on to Florida, North Carolina, New York, and here. I AM YOUNG AT HEART AND LOVE TO HAVE FUN!! I probably have done just about anything in the business world! I was just asked to write a monthly column in a medical publication so I will be doing that each month, which will keep my mind alert as to medical equipment and terminology. So, I guess I can add a columnist to my background too! I am quite intelligent and have recently been a national corporate recruiter as well as I teach, mentor and train in the medical profession. Have worked in the legal end, in television, pharmaceutical sales, and have been a medical transcriptionist also. I am going to have to say some more because some have asked. I love to put names with faces and know that everyone is human! Feel free to email me. I love meeting the folks on MySpace! I have been on the 'net forever and I remember when everyone **used** to say that they wanted to be anonymous because we were not real out here! Uh-uh! Ha! WE ARE REAL! WE EXIST! We all have a life...I hope! I know I do! ;)I love to travel usually by plane and am influenced by strength and wisdom. That strength and zest for life apparently got me here today along with a LOT of walking! :) I consider myself to be very motivated, outgoing, professional, and in my personal life can be very laid back, spunky, found to love life, fun, spirited, and passionate about my interests! I do volunteer work also and hope to have more time to do more in the future. I am also very friendly and if you need a shoulder, I am good for that too! Sometimes I need a shoulder too so if you have one, I'm game! :) If you want a nice companion to take abroad, I fit that shoe too! :) OH, IF YOU LIKE TO FISH, CALL ME! :)Anyhow, I am here. If you have a question, need help, want to know more, want to know less, email me!My favorite thing to do is travel though and try to go wherever I can when the opportunity arises. I like the ocean, the mountains, people's eccentricities, eclectic tastes (as mine are quite eclectic), talent, people who give of themselves as I have always tried to give of myself with passion to whatever project I work on.FAMILY:My family includes a daughter, Kimberley, who is 41 years old and we have had many differences in this life but fact is, no matter what, I still love her and I am very proud of her, my two sons (identical twins), Paul and Scott, who are 39 years old, and my son Louis, who is 34 years old. I have two brothers and their families as well as my youngest son and his wife who are expecting their first child in May (a boy)! I have grandchildren by my other children. My dear mother is still alive and I am blessed to have such a wonderful person as my main influence in life and my best friend as well! I have several friends that have been there a lifetime and are so very loyal, like family. Some of my family and friends also have a My Space and have stopped by. :)I VALUE FAMILY...a person's roots!! Nothing in the world is dearer than a warm loving family. I AM blessed to have been raised in a warm loving environment that was intact and I cherish that. I cherish ALL my family.DISLIKES:Phony people...! Selfishness, deception, untruths, people who do not respect anything precious (these people can stick together in their own world because they are not wanted in mine). Want to take your hostility out on me--don't bother, I'm not interested. MY SAYING: Treasure what was given to you, grasp it, hold on to it, put it in your heart and never let it go! If you can't do that, you do not deserve it!

My Interests

Interests: Spreading LOVE so that the world will be a peaceful place! If we all did that there would never be any problems! Meditation, regrouping, aromatherapy, stress management, music as it soothes the soul.I love people and try and do all I can to help or be there for anyone in need.I love my shih tzu boys. I had shih tzu and lhasa apso girls for 12 years prior to getting my boys. One of my dogs, Ashley, loves Animal Planet and the Meerkats and I love Meerkats too! My other little brown-nosed dog loves to talk! He actually will talk with you. He would be a good guest for David Letterman or for a commercial :)Like to dance, have fine food. Love to go to Las Vegas often, play slots, love poker, just love Vegas!Again, I love to travel, usually fly in and out of the country, but an occasional cruise works too :). FEELINGS: I feel we should treasure life and love, hold onto it, nurture it, live it, and never let it go. To those who have destroyed the precious with no remorse...well these people will be taken care of by higher beings. I am an animal advocate and give to organizations that will save them or take care of them.Oh, I love sports cars! I have a little red one but I want a Mercedes 2-seater...that's my dream! Anyone want to donate one to a good cause in case you have one you don't need! LOL

I'd like to meet:

WHO I'D LIKE TO MEET: First, I would love to meet any or all of my friends (many I have already met, but those I haven't, it would be a privilege to meet you), I like to meet people of strength, courage, character, intellectual capacity, WISDOM, who are passionate about their beliefs, about life and don't change beliefs from one day to the next...someone who has their own mind and cannot be easily influenced! I am here for friends, MEN AND WOMEN of all ages, married or single, intelligent, who are accomplished, gifted (any of our US Presidents or future Presidents) with talent of varying kinds--to me that is self-expression, but shows what is in your heart. I also would love to meet people who have insight into other people and what makes them tick and who care about people. If you crusade for peace, I WANT TO MEET YOU! My big word is living life with PASSION. PASSION folks (yelling here!)--that is what I like to see...people who live their life with passion!! ;)NOTE: OH, I FIRMLY BELIEVE that LIFE BEGINS AT 50 and over! Best years of my life!! No need to stop living because you are older--it's all in the mind!

I was watching the Steve Irwin memorial show on January 21, 2007, and the last thing he said was and I quote, "Be passionate and enthusiastic in the direction you choose in life and you will be a winner."He lived his life doing what he loved most and he did it with passion. If you do that, no matter what the length of our years here on earth, we have led a meaningful life.Bryan Long is another artist who I know that lives his life with passion and writes from the heart. Music:

Love all music with very few exceptions! Love jazz, alternative, rock and roll, classical, New Age, folk, SOME country, Indie, and opera too!!...the whole gamut! I am taken by the sound of Darren Wharton/Dare. I had never heard of them until I came on MySpace and NOTHING THEY DO IS BAD!! I consider Darren to be PROFOUND. His music will take your breath away! Watch and listen to the one video I have below as well as go to my Top list and listen to that music!Have a special place in my heart for Rod Stewart's "Maggie May", Bob Dylan, Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Kinks, Queen, CCR, Eagles, all the early 70's groups. I love Sting (past/present). Todaywise, I love Rob of Future Music, The Razorlight, like The Lights, Bryan Long rocks!, Jerry Boyd helps them rock, love The Fray, Nickelback, as well as other new groups such as Counting Crows, Matchbox 20, Johnny Lang, Usher, Blues Traveler (love John Popper); Travis Meeks you are adorable :); Melissa Etheridge. Remember Joplin? I used to do some great Joplin impressions! PLUS I know how to sing too. Used to do a sultry rendition of "Scotch and Soda" in a piano bar. LOL

Movies:

Just saw "Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon" as my nephew's music is in the movie. I believe one of my all time favorite movies is Pretty Woman with Julia Roberts and Richard Gere and Ghost with Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze. There are a few others. The older flicks though to me are the best!

Television:

Not much TV except Fox Networks 24 (even though they did kill off Assad...I am not happy about that at all), Animal Planet, Discovery, Travel Channel and National Geographic, Lifetime TV Network and Lifetime Movie Network also. Love to watch ice skating and football when teams I like play. CAN YOU TELL I LIKE SHOES?!

Books:

Reading "Kiss and Run" by Elina Furman. Just read "The Byrds of Virginia." Have a personal interest in that. Love mystery books, lighthearted books, biographies, autobiographies, but DO NOT LIKE love novels. The book I read just before the Byrd family was HOME OF THE RED FOX written by my friend and fellow ex-MT Judity!

Heroes:

My father! He overcame many adversities and went on to be quite accomplished. He was an inventor and had his machinery all over the world. He passed away in 1994 and I still miss him so. Any soldier who has either fought for our country or given their life for our country. These men and women should be commended always for their bravery. We must support our troops!
