About Me

Greg Hallums was raised on a farm in rural Shop Springs, TN. He started fiddling at the age of 15 after his brother picked up the banjo. Frustrated at times, Greg eventually taught himself how to play. Oftentimes spending countless hours watching Jr. Crawford from Lebanon, TN. playing at square dances, he learned how to play the "double stop" style. After meeting and befriending his childhood idol Bobby Hicks in 1987, Greg had the ultimate "double-stop" influence in his life. Spending the next 20 years studying his style, Greg has become an impressive "understudy" of the master Bobby Hicks playing this style. Greg has enthralled audiences for years with his impeccable taste and "hot double stop licks" over the past two decades thanks in no small part to Mr. Hick's influence and instruction. With his own album appropriately entitled "Double Stop" recorded in 2004, and currently playing with the incredibly popular "Southern Express" Bluegrass Band, a 2005 National Fiddle Champion, Greg loves creating smiles wherever he goes!If you like what you hear, please support his music and buy his album. He would love to make another album this year! God Bless you and thank you for your support!!!He really does appreciate everyone's comments and adds...if he doesn't respond immediately to you don't take it personally...it's just hard to keep up with everything sometimes...Thank you all for supporting his music!
