About Me

I've often wondered, what do I say "about me?" I've already stated what my interests are, what I like and dislike, so in here I want to tell you about my mind and heart, about my philosophy on friends and life, if you will. I like to "hang out" with the younger set, but enjoy friendship with people my own age. I write both songs and poetry. If you wish to see a sample of my poetry and take a peak at how my mind works, open my Blogs. My specialty and desire is writing romantic material. I'm retired from the Army, and formerly a widower. I believe that God sends us friends along the way to help. I have been very fortunate to enter what I call the "get acquainted" room of friendship, and some friends have left that room on "speaking terms", some have left that room as seasonal and/or life long friends. I believed that at some point I would meet a friend that would become even more special. I have done this! I am now married to a beautiful young lady I met through Myspace. I am looking for friends only from this point forward. If you would like to get acquainted, I welcome you. Should you later "delete" me because you didn't like what you "saw", that's okay, I will understand. I will always give you an honest answer to any question you ask. I don't believe that friendships of any kind can be based on lies. If you ask, I'll answer you honestly.

My Interests

Play golf, bowling, shooting pool, throwing darts, fishing, just to name a few. I have tried virtually anything legal out there like skydiving, rock climbing, bungee jumping, and I'm game to try anything at least once.

I'd like to meet:

Honest people. Every thing else is just extra. AND, if you happen to live close enough, I would really like to meet someone to play golf with occasionally!

Music:

I love county music, and listen to the oldies as often as I can.

Movies:

I like movies with action primarily. I enjoy any movie with a followable story line. Sorry, but I have even been known to shed tears at the tearjerker movies.

Television:

I really don't watch much TV. Too many other things to do. Maybe a good movie if one's on late at night. There are some great shows though, like "Ugly Betty" and "24" that I enjoy.

Books:

I read the Bible often. I've read every book put out by Dean Koontz, Louis L'Amour, Stephen King, and Zane Grey. I enjoy westerns and mysteries alike. Every once in a while, I'll pick up a classic just to remind myself how good they are.

Heroes:

There are so many people that I admire for the heroic things they have done, but if I had to pick one, it would be a niece of mine that a few years ago was struck down with MS. She was in her teens, a beautiful lady, honor roll student, ready to meet the world head on. Her muscle functions were ruined from the disease, but her mind is still sharp. She works hard every day just to move a little on her own, speak a few words or so many other things we all take for granted. I love that young lady, and she is truely a hero just based on the effort she makes every day. She is a beautiful lady.
