About Me

Hello Friends, Welcome to the Gary Watts Project! This site is here to serve a dual purpose. To tie together as many of the classic rock, psychedelic, and blues/rock idiom, and all the loose ends to go with it that I can! As this blog begins to grow, you will find a collection of artists, wide and varied, but classic. I would like to thank the Electric Prunes for their "Feedback",which happens to be the name of their great new album, that I give five stars! This album rocks hard and is worth a listen at www.electricprunes.net, or use my link in my friends...Circus Freak is so hot! I will post other HOT items from time to time for you to check out. My background goes back to 1964 to a band called Railroad doing Beatles and Chuck Berry covers in those kind of dance halls where when the fights broke out, you NEVER stop playing, or else! I ended up playing in a band in New York in 1966/67 called Light Years. After that band I ended up working for awhile at Steve Paul's the Scene in New York where I met many great names, including The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Chambers Brothers, Jefferson Airplane, and many others. They also had some girls called the Plaster Casters, who made castings of prominent,[no pun intended] musicians "instruments" if you get my drift! I have been in several bands, and have played with a diverse bunch, some with big names. My project is going to include Aaron Henning, a very skilled guitarist that knows HOW to rock! On bass is Bob Turner. The bass player you'se always looking for, but couldn't find...Know what I mean? Both Aaron and Bob can be found in my friends with good music to listen to. Enjoy! We will be posting some new songs SOON! If it weren't for The Electric Prunes, You wouldn't be reading this post...These guys built a fire under me. One of the best 60's bands to ever grace a stage comes back 34 years later to put out three great albums! Feedback IS a masterpiece! It is alive...The recording is incredible. It pulled me back, front and center! Thanks James, Mark, Ken, and ALL EP's past and present for your inspiration...I'm BACK!
