ALTHOUGH poised on the threshold of stardom in the late 60's armed with a multi-album record contract, a growing fan base, and a release that leaped to 1 in Boston, Louisiana, and the State of Florida, "The Jellybean Bandits" fully expecting to follow in the successful footsteps of their fellow 'label mates', "Big Brother & the Holding Company" (with Janis Joplin) and "The Amboy Dukes"(with Ted Nugent) . However, impetuous youth and inadequate management assured this popular New York group shelf space in the archives of musical obscurity forever ...... or so they thought!
THIRTY-SEVEN years later, unexpected and unexplained, "THE JELLYBEAN BANDITS" were resurrected from the depths of musical abyss and were once again positioned on the doorstep of success. In a bizarre set of circumstances, the band learned that their 1967 recording, on the Mainstream label, was being featured in a full-page spread in 'Goldmine's Price Guide to Collectible Record Albums' as "...a highly sought after collectors item". Surfing the 'net' revealed that the band had gathered a large, world-wide following. Their music was being bootlegged and being played throughout the European nightclub circuit elevating them to "..semi-cult status." Four original members re-grouped and between 1999 and 2000 they recorded their sophomore CD, "TIME AND AGAIN" , and released it in the spring of 2001 to positive reviews (see articles below).
SINCE 2001, the "BANDITS" have released several fan requested recordings. 2002 welcomed the release of "MIRROR MUSIC" , a live performance from 1967, artistically transposed from tape to disc. 2003 introduced the high-tech version of the original 1967 Mainstream recording, the self-titled "THE JELLYBEAN BANDITS" . Shortly thereafter came the second live performance disc from 1967, "THE OTHER SIDE of THE MIRROR" that featured one of the first ever recorded full-set tributes to the Beatles. However, the crowning moment of the bands 40 year recording career came early in 2004 with the release of the world-wide, multi-band project, "BANDIT PLANET" . Three continents, four countries, nine bands, and nineteen tracks. Musicians without borders paying tribute to the music of "THE JELLYBEAN BANDITS" .

The latest endeavor from this group of old rockers, is a dramatic disc of original tunes, etched in the "all over the place" and "in your face" format that has become synonymous with the band. Titled "ROCK & ROLL is KEEPING ME ALIVE" , this multi-genre offering of fresh, new, original material leaves no stone unturned when reaching out to the masses.
With three more original songs to be added, this spectacular and diverse recording will soon be off to Patrick ,"our fantastic mixing guru" at "FLUX STUDIOS" in Wilmington, North Carolina. The Boys then promises to have this powerhouse recording available in mid November, 2007, just in time for the holidays. Shortly, the Band will be uploading several of these new songs for your listening pleasure.
