Portside Books was a collectively owned and operated, not-for-profit community bookstore that sought to provide Corpus Christi with radical literature and a space for community events and organizations.
PSB was in operation from November 2006 to July 29, 2007.

My Interests



Portside Books Collective was a not-for-profit, all volunteer, collectively owned and operated radical bookstore in Corpus Christi. As a local alternative to corporate bookstores, we offered radical, progressive, alternative, and hard-to-find books and periodicals, among other types of literature and merchandise. Portside Books Collective also provided space for community events, talks, book readings, and acted as an outlet for independent media and local authors.
Publishers: The New Press, AK Press, Seven Stories, International Publishers, Kerr, Monthly Review, South End Press, Verso, Common Courage, City Lights and Autonomedia.
Non-Fiction Themes: History, Politics, Economics, Labor, Feminism, Black Studies (Civil Rights, Slavery, Black Power, etc.) Latin@ Studies (Chicano Power, immigration, Latin America) Activism, Globalization, Anarchism, Marxism, Children's Books, Current Events (Iraq, Israel-Palestine, etc.), Veganism/Vegetarianism, Crime, Prison Reform, Race, Poverty, Sociology, Anthropology, Ecology, and Science.
Fiction Authors: Orwell, Atwood, Roy, Garcia-Marquez, Hemingway, Huxley, Vidal, Vonnegut, and Palahniuk
Other interests: Poetry, Philosophy, Religion, Art, Etc.
Volunteers: Because we are no longer around, we no longer need volunteers.
