Damian Berdakin

I am originally from Argentina, Now Living in the Los Angeles area. The music I play is inspired by my multicultural background. I am of Jewish descent through my grandparents who migrated to Argentina from Russia, Poland and Syria. I grew up in a mainly Catholic society where traditions got mixed with Spanish, Italian and the Native Americans. I started playing Folklore Music on my guitar, and traveled around the country with my friends learning more about Argentina. Down the line I met with Classical Music. I study double bass, and played as a professional in the Cordoba Symphonic Orchestra. In 2002 I got a Scholarship At Longy School of Music, (Cambridge MA). Now I am working on my Masters at California institute of the Arts (Calarts). My music is an expression of all the different Musical landscapes that live in me.
