I’m a professional trombonist currently studying at Trinity college of Music on the "Archer Scholarship" in London. Originally from Sheffield in South Yorkshire, I first came across the trombone at the age of 15 and since then I’ve not put it down!
I am currently running various musical projects which include: "The Lee Hallam Jazz Quintet", "The Swing Shift Big Band" mainly playing swing (LOTS of Basie and Ellington) and my jazz function band "City Lights" (playing everything we’re asked to and whatever else we can!!) When I’m not organising all of this I’m either asleep, practising, eating or out with one of the following bands/shows: "The Trinity College big band", "The John Miller Orchestra", "The Nick Ross Orchestra", "The Alice Coulam Quintet", "Orquesta Palo y Rumba", "The Empress Dance Orchestra", "The Wigan Jazz Club Big Band", "Nautilus - the funk Band", "The Nottingham Jazz Orchestra", "The Shades (of Kenton) Jazz Orch", "The Rat Pack", "The Peter Grant Show", "The Glenn Miller Orchestra U.K.", "The Andy Prior Big Band" or "The Debbie Curtis Radio Big Band". As well as other ensembles in all styles including Jazz, Latin and Funk.
For the tekkies out there I play mainly on one/the other of two King 2Bs which I own with a King 28/Stork T3/Mt.vernon Bach 11c. I love it!!!
