Currently I play percussion with the Grimethorpe Colliery Band, which means i could end up playing anything from xylophone, vibes, timpani, drum kit etc to a rusty car wheel (yes it's true) I also play a lot of jazz..Recently I've been playing with the Alice Coulam (vocals), Lee Hallam (Trombone), Jamie Taylor (Guitar), Alan Ladds (Sax/Clarinet/Flute), Sarah Bennett (Vocals), Pat Sprakes (Guitar), Piero Tucci (Keys), Chris Walker (Guitar), Andy Cholerton (Keys), Steve Black (Guitar), Graham Jones (Bass), Pete Lyons (Sax), Howard Walker (Vocals), Steve Brickley (Bass), 'JamShed', (run by Sheffield based trumpet/flugel player Paul Brickles), Nick Fletcher (Keys), Henrik Linnemann (Flutes), Brian Acton (Guitar/Vocals), Bruce Reid (Bass), Karen Lake (Vocals), Rich Keates (Bass), Chris Noble (Keys), Wendy Kirkland (Keys), Shaun Ward (Bass), Scott Bramley (Keys), Emilio Montuori (Bass).... Over the last couple of years playing with the funk band 'Grey Cooper love Party' I seem to have picked up the nickname 'Soulman'..niiice.. I LOVE playing timpani and play a lot of orchestral gigs throughout the north/midlands area.. I do show/pit work too, having played everything from Puccini's 'Turandot' to 'Titanic' and 'The Full Monty'. When I'm not playing music, I'm teaching it for Doncaster Music Service..I've got some really great pupils, as well as being a part of 'The Groovemeisters' (Hungerhill School) and arranging music and playing drums for the DMS' steel band called 'Totally Steel'.. I don't get much sleep but it's all good!
