Thelema Lodge is always interested in meeting men and women who are free and of full age (18 years of age or older and free to participate in Lodge activities in person) for the purpose of initiation into our mysteries. Prospective members of the Lodge should be interested, serious, hard working, self-motivating, and have some familiarity with the works of Aleister Crowley.Neither Thelema Lodge nor the OTO are "teaching" forums, that is, while we have classes put on by individual members on a regular basis, there is little set curriculum involved in being a member of OTO. We only provide fertile ground where others can grow and develop their True Wills in their own way. Nobody at Thelema Lodge will assume the role of guru and proclaim statements of arcane wisdom from the top of a mountain. There is, however, a wealth of Magickal knowledge and experience held by the members of Thelema Lodge and in the surrounding OTO bodies. If you are interested in a certain field of the occult arts, there will certainly be an individual at the Lodge or known by the Lodge who can help you. There are many things you can learn from us, and hopefully, much we can learn from you.We welcome people at all levels of participation, however, the greatest personal benefits come to those who dedicate their lives to the Work over the long term. Membership is not mandatory for attendance of public events like the Mass, but participation in the Mass and other private events is only granted to initiates. For those who are unsure as to whether the OTO is right for him or her, Thelema Lodge offers initiation into the Minerval Degree. This Degree, while having oaths, is not binding upon the soul of the individual being initiated. It offers you the chance to enter the foyer of OTO, participate in the Mass, and take part in other Lodge functions to which the public is not admitted. Should you find that the OTO is not the right environment for your spiritual development, then you may resign or let your membership lapse and you may leave as you entered.
The First Degree is for those who wish to explore deeper into the mysteries of the OTO. It's seal and oaths are binding, and once taken, tie you permanently and karmically to the Order. You may still physically resign or leave at any time, but the oaths you took and dedication you made will be with you for the rest of your life. From that point, Thelema Lodge offers subsequent Degrees up to Fourth and Prince of Jerusalem. Higher degrees are only available by invitation.
Applications for Degrees Minerval through Fourth and P.I. are available at Thelema Lodge on request from the Lodge Master. If you are interested in obtaining membership into the O.T.O. and Thelema Lodge, arrange through the phone number or e-mail address above to attend a Mass and talk with the Lodge leadership.Involvement in the Ecclesia Gnostica Catholica (which will become increasingly more important as one rises in degree) involves learning roles for the Gnostic Mass. This will require specialized individual training, but will only be offered to persons who request it and are willing to perform the work required. To participate actively in the E.G.C., one must first become an initiate of O.T.O. This is followed by Baptism (mandatory for the Child position in the Gnostic Mass), and then Confirmation (mandatory for all other Mass positions). Contact the Lodge leadership for more information.Gnostic Mass performance is tied intimately to the initiatory process, and one is only fully experienced with the simultaneous practice of the other. It is strongly encouraged that all initiates of OTO learn and regularly practice the Mass roles as part of their spiritual development in the Order.Links:
