DJ Buddha on the 1's and 0's.

About Me

Buddha has been a muso for life. A self professed music, art, and technology whore, Buddha attempts to meld the 3 and pull influence from each. Working professionally as a club promoter, venue manager, DJ, VJ, graphic designer, and bassist he is able to exercise his all his skills to full effect. His musical training began at 7 when he began learning to play the violin, then at 17 the bass which he has played in various bands for over 9 years. This sparked a life long hunger and passion for music as well as a solid foundation to create. A mashup of styles, genres, and BPM's are typical of one of his sets. Buddha has deep understanding of hip-hop, breaks, broken beat, house, electro, DnB, Latin beats, funk, soul, reggae, electronica and cohesively welds them together. It is not unusual to see him billed for 5+ hour sets. Through this wide knowledge of music he is able to appeal to a huge range of audiences and therefore never fails to get a positive reaction from any crowd. An up and coming talent, Buddha's incredibly eclectic style has seen him play alongside a very eclectic array of DJ's including Annie Mac (BBC Radio 1), Ben Westbeach (Brownswood Records), Rodney P & Skitz (BBC 1Xtra) 2xDMC World Champ Dj Woody, DJ Food (Ninja Tune), Radioactive Man (Warp Records), Nostalgia 77 (Tru Thoughts), Diesler (Tru Thoughts), Blood & Fire Soundsystem (Blood & Fire Records), Atomic Hooligan (Botchit & Scarper), Overproof Soundsystem (G-Corp), Mike "Agent X" Clark (Beatdown Records - Detroit/Fabric Resident), Enemy Squad (Tuff City Records), and Joe Driscoll to name a few. Recent bookings have taken him as far afeild as India, Detroit, Africa, and Dublin as well as staple shows all over the UK from London to Liverpool. Major future bookings include Lake of Stars Festival - Malawi, Africa 2008.With a sharp eye on technological advancements Buddha uses the most cutting edge technology  in his sets. Armed with just an Allen & Heath x:one 3D (4 channel mixer/MIDI controller) and a Powerbook utilizing Traktor Buddha is able to tap into a huge array of music with total hands control ... Nothing is automated, everything is mixed live.Buddha is also entertainments manager and promoter for the most credible and hottest Liverpool venue, Django's Riff. Here the ethos is to bring new and fresh music to Liverpool and is becoming very well known in the UK for consistently programing only the best underground music from around the world. Buddha is also a resident DJ at Django's Riff where his reputation continues to grow as one of the most imaginative DJ's in the city.
