Mellowtone

Mellowtone is a regular evening of high-quality, unplugged music, held in intimate venues across Liverpool. We’re predominately acoustic in outlook, but our ultimate focus is on showcasing the best acts in whatever genre, from both the local area and around the world.Mellowtone is more than just a gig. Between the live music, resident DJs Richie Vegas & Musica del ALma (Jonnie O'Hare & Ian Knowlson) plus loads of guests, play a laid-back selection of vinyl including funk, soul, blues, jazz, reggae, afrobeat, chilled hip-hop and, to be honest, anything else they fancy. Compere duties meanwhile, are provided by some of the sharpest poets and performers that Liverpool has to offer...with our current resident Monkey looking after the introductions.The spiritual home of the night is the View Two Gallery, an intimate artspace on Mathew Street, but Mellowtone has also gathered at 3345, The Magnet, Tate Liverpool, The Zanzibar, The Everyman Bistro, Cafe Latte, Kelly's Dispensary, The Performance Room, The Resident's Lounge and, gone but not forgotten, Heart and Soul, The Kif and Quiggins.We also squeeze in link-ups when we can with some of the party people we encounter, including Lake of Stars Festival, CALM, Gold in the Shade, Sound City, Northern Lights, Downstairs Disco, Acoustic Club, Platform Radio, Acoustica, Thursdays at 3345, Superfly Comedy, Musica Del Alma, Liverpool Comedy Festival, Dockyard Studio, Art in Liverpool, Souljackin, Liverpool Music Week, Lazy Genius, and every now and again we do our bit for good causes and throw a party for charity.Take a look at our friends section to get a general feel for what we’re all about, especially the top howevermany for recent / upcoming acts and keep checking back to see any gigs that are in the pipeline...... we'll continue to quietly create a stir........................................................
