Global Pulse

About Me

Global Pulse combine the traditions of West African rhythm with the spice of Liverpool creativity. Their live performances are dynamic, vibrant and innovative. The sounds they create have been suited to many venues from Old Trafford for UNICEF to Liverpool Music Week and the group has firmly established itself as one of the North Wests leading exponents of world music.

There line up features the awesome power of 5 foot fontomfroms (Ghanain ceremonial and war drums) energetically driven by Tristan, combined warmth and power of dun duns (mandinke bass drums) expertally flown by Jan and bugaraboo, djembe and tama leading the journey with Kevin at the helm.

At the heart of Global Pulse are African Drums and African rhythms, but from the start the band wanted to introduce a range of influences, tunes and noises to make the sound a Liverpool sound.
