About Me

New CD release on August 25, 07 at Turning Point Cafe of "New, Borrowed and Blue" featuring new tunes and producitons with producer/songwriter/ guitarist Dave Fields and co-producer/arranger/writer/sax man Rob Chaseman. Included in on The CD are 3 live tracks with Whole Lotta Blues from a radio broadcast Feb 07 on Bill Nolan's "Antique Blues" on CT/NY's WPKN. CD available only at shows or via email right now. The Track "If It Don't Fit" as featured on “Groove on Up” on the Savant label (ww.jazzdepot.com). Check out the CD with the father of ACID JAZZ guitar himself, Melvin Sparks!!Besides being a singer/bandleader, I’m a mom to an amazing 14 year old who is home schooling and after that, plays guitar constantly! I am also on the Board of Directors for the New York Blues & Jazz Society as Musician’s Liaison and Public Relations. I run a great jams all over NJ and NY at Bergen County’s premier nightclub, Mexicali Blues Café as well as 3 other locations each month.I also teach voice. With all that and playing regularly with my own bands and others, I love my life! WHOLE LOTTA BLUES is blues, funky rock and R&B, with many obscure covers, originals featruing Rob Chaseman on saxes and always the best guitars. Groove is the gel, passion the focus and red hot sweaty fun the result! See us in performance type settings such as the Turning Point Café. Lucille’s at BB Kings, openings for headliners, private and corporate events. “Just wanted to thank you for a very special evening in Piermont (Turning Point) last Saturday night. Your passion, talent, and band blew us away. Catching someone of your caliber in such an intimate venue made for an unforgettable experience. If it sounds like we are gushing, it's because we are!” Mark and Sandy, Fans“Powerful/from the bottom of soul-filled song well with a serpents unpredictability, Nikki can sink her teeth into the skin of almost any style of song and make you want to get bit again.” Mister G, DJ 91.7FM WHUS Storrs, Conn“It was a pleasure having you & Whole Lotta Blues in the club the many times you appeared... My deepest thanks & appreciation for all that you did for the club.” Kevin Kiekel, owner Boxcar, Conn.“Thank you for the wonderful 'Since I Fell For You'! Melvin Sparks of course was a delight - and so was the rest of the band. “ John Broven, author, music historianNIKKI ARMSTRONG PROJECT is blues and jazz in a more sophisticated setting. I don’t do headstands or splits on these dates due to the chanteuse type attire I like to wear for these shows.“All your singing was great--Body and Soul, Bye Bye Blackbird, Stormy Weather- -you've got that blues-ballad thing down!!” Michael Lydon, author, songwriter and a founding Editor of Rolling Stone MagazineI also perform with various bands such as ZOOM and The MELVIN SPARKS BAND, for public, corporate and private events as a featured vocalist. One of my favorite statements from one of my favorite musicians:“Sweet, Sweet Nikki, The pitfalls of the "music business" is something we are all subjected to, at one time or another! In your case, you have so much talent and smarts going for you (besides your beauty) you must not let it deter you... Expect it, and I'm certain you will surely climb that next plateau!! Much love, Vinnie” Vinnie Bell, session guitarist/inventorMy new website will launch next week! nikkiarmstrong.com
