I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

It has been interesting so far. To begin by attending Catholic schools deep in the center of the Mormon universe, I have learned about religious variations. Being raised a Catholic yet having a grandfather who was a Southern Baptist minister made for my family's unique brand of soul wars. It's no wonder that I ended up in a whole on different area of belief. I do consider myself to be a recovering Catholic. Ma and grandpa are probably still not talking about it somewhere on the other side. My work history has a kind of wide range to it. Some of the things I did was food service and bar tending at hotel restaurants, creating architectural models, survey drafting before computers, drug mule, and even driving the ski bus in Park City the home of Sundance Film Festival and a lot of people dressed in black. These days I am a visual artist that would be best described as eclectic. I'll do anything that I feel the juice for, but it's mostly in the third dimension. My avocation is to organize and work a vision quest camp and have been doing that for sixteen years. We help people to discover themselves. It sounds trite I know, yet if you could see the miraculous things that I've seen, it really would shock and awe. My life experiences include some out of the way things. I've toured great canyons by river in private rafts including the Grand. I was a hostage at the public library in lieu of some Tibetan monks. I was taken by a madman, a .45 cal. semi-automatic and an anti-personel bomb that had a curling iron as a dead man switch. This made for almost 6 fun filled hours especially when my bladder is screaming to pee. I'll probably blog about that whole thing eventually and talk about how duct tape saved my life - so 1,000 and 2 uses eh? Most recently though, I broke my shoulder while walking in the cemetery to the amusement of the magpie who caused the crash. It was funny getting taken out by an ambulance to hospital because surely it was said, "Looks like we found us a live one." Indeed

My Interests

I am a starving artist. Who needs anorexia when you make that a career choice. I do mostly commissioned work. I work with the person wanting the art and combine their energies with the creativity and produce a piece unique to them. I know it sounds "new agey" but that is how it works for me and them. The work I choose to do is very time intensive and I make about 10 cents an hour. However, job satisfaction is primary and rewarding. It's just really hard to pay bills with that. Go to my pics and check out my work. If you like it leave a comment. I would really like to know what you think.
