Dario Chiazzolino

Dario Chiazzolino was born in Turin in February 1985.
From the very beginning, he built inspiration from diverse musical experiences to include: Steve Vai, John Petrucci, Scott Henderson, Pat Metheny, George Benson, Joe Pass, John Scofield.
It was however pianists such as Bill Evans, Michel Petrucciani, Antonio Faraò, Herbie Hancock who had the most influence and supply Dario Chiazzolino with plenty of musical hints.
Since he was 14, he started playing live in progressive, jazz, rock, fusion, latin, groups and exhibited in a range of different environments (theatres, outdoor spaces, clubs, auditoriums). At the same time he joined bands such as Free spirit, Black soul, Karma, No time, Zero, Line out, City band, Assoluto. With them he toured the lenght of Italy on a busy concert schedule.
He exploited this specific opportunity also to attend a few seminars with John Scofield, Scott Henderson, John Patitucci, Gary Burton. He also played in Jazz Festival in different parts of the Peninsula.
In 2005 he attended an advanced musical master, at the "University of Music" in Rome.
In the summer of 2006, he participated to "Umbria Jazz Festival" where he was awared the prize as Best guitarist and joined Berklee/Umbria Jazz Clinics 2006 Award Group. With this band he plays at "Umbria Jazz Winter" in Orvieto and Bologna.
He attends experimental jazz course in Turin Conservatory G. Verdi and now he is working as guitar educator in Gianni Branca Music Academy "La Ritmica" in Collegno (TO).

Trae ispirazione da chitarristi di generi molto diversi: Steve Vai, John Petrucci, Scott Henderson, Pat Metheny, George Benson, Joe Pass, John Scofield; rimane colpito da pianisti come Bill Evans, Michel Petrucciani, Antonio Faraò, Herbie Hancock, che rappresenteranno le sue principali influenze.
Si esibisce dal vivo in formazioni rock progressivo, jazz, funk e fusion già dall'età di 14 anni, in teatri, piazze, club, auditorium di Torino.
Contemporaneamente entra a far parte di alcune band torinesi come Free spirit, Black soul, Karma, No time, Zero, Line out, City band, Assoluto, con le quali è impegnato in tour in tutta Italia.
Durante il suo percorso partecipa a seminari di John Scofield, Scott Henderson, John Patitucci, Gary Burton, e a Jazz Festival come: Torino, Avigliana, Moncalieri, Nuoro, Perugia.
Nel 2005 segue un corso di perfezionamento presso l' "Università Della Musica" di Roma.
Nell'estate 2006 approda all'"Umbria Jazz Festival"dove viene selezionato come miglior chitarrista; farà parte della BERKLEE/UMBRIA JAZZ CLINICS 2006 AWARD GROUP, band con la quale suonerà all'"Umbria Jazz Winter" a Orvieto e a Bologna.
Frequenta il triennio sperimentale in jazz, presso il conservatorio G. Verdi di Torino sotto la guida di Furio Di Castri ed è attualmente impegnato come insegnante di chitarra presso la scuola di Gianni Branca "La Ritmica" di Collegno (TO).
