Assuring Help for People in Need

About Me

Global concerns are important to Americans. Worldwide issues and challenges affect us daily, and the American people are generous when it comes to helping those around the world who face hardship due to poor economic conditions, natural disasters and war.
Humanitarian foreign aid provided by the U.S. government amounts to less than 1 percent of the federal budget—only a fraction of what people think is actually spent. Among the top 21 industrialized nations, the U.S. ranks last in terms of the percentage of gross national product spent on humanitarian foreign aid.
Founded in 1956, Global Impact is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to bridging this gap in order to help the poorest people on Earth. Global Impact provides an opportunity for you to learn about issues facing the world and direct support to the programs and countries you want to help.
Representing more than 50 of the most respected U.S.-based international charities, Global Impact touches more than 400 million lives through disaster relief, education, health training and economic programs that promote self-sufficiency. Since its inception, Global Impact has raised nearly $500 million for its partner charities.
In addition, Global Impact also manages the two largest workplace giving campaigns in the world: the Combined Federal Campaign of the National Capital Area (CFCNCA) in Washington, DC, and the Combined Federal Campaign–Overseas (CFC–O) for all overseas commands of the Department of Defense.

Global Impact Darfur Crisis Fund
'It's Going to be a Long Stay.'

Global Impact continues to meet the immediate needs of refugees in Darfur, despite the considerable risks. Partner charities in the region provide food, shelter and clean water. They distribute relief supplies and essential medicines to combat diseases, which are spreading rapidly. And, recognizing that the needs will continue, Global Impact is planning for the long term.
