About Me

The music clips on this site are either from the CD "Cause and Effect" and feature Greg's compositons performed by Dave Wiffen on sax, Adrean Farrugia on piano, Marek Semeniuk on the bass, and Chris Lamont on drums. The CD is available directly from Greg. Some of the other tunes are from a live performance at a now defunct jazz club in Texas and feature Michael Henry Martin on guitar, Dave Keown on bass and Kevin Taylor on drums. The CD was done in a studio and the performances are more plolished. The live recording sounds surprisingly good for setting up a couple of mics in the club, but we got a little self-indulgent and the tunes - standards - are a little longer. Hope you like the music. Band Members: The CD includes Greg Bush, trumpet, flugel horn, composer and arranger. Dave Wiffen, tenor and soprano saxophones. Adrean Farrugia, piano. Marek Semeniuk, bass. Chris Lamont, drums. The live recordings feature Greg Bush, trumpet, flugel horn; Michael Henry Martin, guitar; Dave Keown, bass and Kevin Taylor drums.Greg attended Vanier College, Concordia University and McGill University in Montreal. He's been on the faculties of Red Deer College, Mohawk College, McMaster University and Abilene Christian University. He currently teaches at Vancouver Island University in Nanaimo.
Influences: I love the whole history of jazz trumpet playing but I particularly love Miles Davis, Woody Shaw and Kenny Wheeler. I think these influences show themselves in my playing and writing.
