About Me

Hi everybody!
***********
CANARY MINE GIGS:
JULY TOUR! We don't have any local gigs booked right now, but we're working on our July tour dates in western Canada. Please see the CM myspace for those details, updated as we get 'em.
NEW ALBUM! But how's this for exciting: We've spent the last two months hitting the studio every weekend, recording the latest album! We're nearly finished the recording process, now we'll spend some time mixing and whatnot. We're looking at an early November release date.
COMPILATION CD! James has also been putting together a compilation album. Seeing as we're nearly sold out of the previous three albums, we figured we'd make just one cd with a mix of our favourite tracks.
VIDEOS! I've finally posted the videos of Canary Mine performing with Newberry vs. Newberry on Breakfast Television last December. Fun times! Man, I love those kids. Just a history note: Dave Newberry, Sioux Newberry and I all went to Sutton High School together, and cut our teeth in all the school plays and local community theatre groups. Ah, the memories...
Anyhoo, the first video is a song I wrote for Canary Mine called "Come On Over To Our House (For Christmas)" featuring a brilliant rap written and performed by Mr. James Lanbro himself. The second video is a song written by the Newberry's called "Do They Know It's Christmas Time". Enjoy!

The Full Voice Workbook Series is still going strong. If you are a vocal teacher, or a student of voice, you will likely be interested in this great new resource. The books are designed to improve the general musicianship of vocalists of all ages, with exercises in rhythm, sight-singing, ear training and performance. We're distributed across Canada by Music One Select and in the United States by Charles Dumont & Son. Most major music retailers in Canada carry the series. Please visit www.thefullvoice.com for more information.
HOMOgenius featuring Shawn Hitchins, is morphing from a half-hour workshop into a full-length show. We've got some new bits & original songs in rehearsal right now, and are looking forward to our feature performance at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre this June, during Pride Week. The promo train has already begun to roll, so keep your eyes peeled for our posters and articles. Please visit www.shawnhitchins.com for more info.
