About Me

JEFF DAHL ON THE MOVE!!!! --++-- I am currently in the process of moving from Arizona to Hawaii and I will be doing a lot of traveling, etc for the next month or so. I will not have interent access to myspace until I am set up and my computer is shipped over. So please, DO NOT SEND MESSAGES OR ASK TO BE ADDED TO MY FRIENDS LIST!!! Becasue it might be some time until I can get to it. Please wait until I notify here that I am up and running again. Consider me gone! Thanks, and to quote the Terminator, "I’ll be back" --++-- Jeff Dahl recorded his first single, Rock N Roll Critic, in 1977 and it was released on the Doodley Squat label. Since then Jeff served time in Vox Pop, (Germs, 45 Grave & Dream Syndicate members) The Angry Samoans and Powertrip as well as playing & recording with Dead Boy legend Cheetah Chrome. There are appx 26 full length albums released (Studio, live, bootlegs, Best Of collections... you count ’em) and probably in the neighborhood of 100 7" singles. Some are in print, some are not. Jeff has done extensive touring and studio production work in the USA, Europe and Japan. --++-- ACOUSTIC CD! --++-- BATTERED STUFF... ONE ACOUSTIC MOTHER!!! The latest Jeff Dahl solo acoustic CD is out on Steelcage Records. A lot of cooler stores and distro & mailorder companies are carrying or you can order it direct from me for $10 USD ppd per copy in the USA & Canada or $15 USD ppd per copy from Europe, Japan, Australia or anyplace else in the world. Postage is included in this price. Drop me a line if you’re interested. As far as what this sounds like, it started off as a quickie recording with just a couple acoustic guitars and a few vocals but some drums got added, some bass, a little slide, piano, dobro, washboard... 6 months later it was done. So when I used the term "acoustic," it’s relative. Perhaps "acoustic based recording" might be a better and more accurate way to put it? The songs go from folky blues, to stripped down rockers to a couple jazzy moments... Eclectic... Yep, I played all the instruments, produced, mixed, recorded it... Cool? It’s about sold out so track down a copy while it’s still available. --++-- NEW ALBUM RECORDED! --++-- The new album is done and it’s called Monkey City Rock N Roll. We recorded it live & raw in my studio and shipped the tapes off to Jack Endino (Black Halos, Nirvana, Makers, Mudhoney) to mix and master them. Sonically speaking, this stuff slams. Since I had recently released the acoustic album all these new songs are rockers. No ballads or blues. Lotsa fast punk and steamy rockironroll riffiage. Stay tuned for more info and thrilling surprises! --++-- NEW ALBUM UPDATE! --++-- The new album, MONKEY CITY ROCK N ROLL, will be out as a limited edition 6 song 10" vinyl PICTURE DISC EP of just 500 copies on May 27th, 2008. Be forwarned, I’m told that the entire pressing has been reserved by the distribution companies and most of these are heading to Europe. Only a few will be available in USA stores or from Steel Cage direct. I’m not even going to have copies to sell! (Seriously, it’s that damn limited!) So if you’re a vinyl freak, good luck finding a copy. Not to worry tho, because the full CD, with all 10 songs will be out about a month later. Oh, and the cover art for the 10" and the CD will be entirely different. --++-- ADIOS & GRACIAS --++-- Yes, folks, the rumors are true. I am moving back to my home state of Hawaii in March. I just played my last show here in Arizona (or anywhere else for the time being) at my favorite joint, Hollywood Alley. Who know when/if I’ll be back?
