Kali- Hindu Goddess of Destruction, Death and mother goddess. Most statues of Kali are of a black woman with 4 arms. In one of her arms, she is holding a sword, while in another she holds a head. Kali’s has earrings made of dead bodies, a necklace of sculls, and is completely naked except for a girdle of dead men’s hands. Her tongue sticks out from her mouth and she has red eyes. Both her face and breasts are covered in blood as she stands with one foot on the thigh, and the other on the chest of her husband. In Hindu tradition when the world became over crowed she brought the gift of death to every living thing, therefore eliminating the over crowding ad giving all living things a chance to be re-born.
