Influences: SOoooo many! From centuries old Celtic and Applachian through 20's blues and swing, early country, 60's rock 'n roll, contradancing, and anything I might hear that I fall in love with.
Sounds Like: Well, there's me singing and writing songs, and then there's me fiddling. When I sing I sound like me, I'm not trying to sound like anyone else. But here are some people others have compared me to (sometimes favorably):
Neil Young, Paul Simon, John Prine, John Gorka, Elvis (only when I really want to), James Taylor, The Band,
My idols in the fiddle world are Liz Carrol, Kevin Burke (and any great celtic fiddler), Stephane Grapelli, Darol Anger (and any great swing fiddler), J.P. Fraley, Melvin Wine (and any great old-time fiddler); get the picture?
