About Me

I've spent my whole life selling stuff. Stuff I'm not really passionate about... My parents owned service stations so I sold GROCERIES, PETROLand TAKEAWAY FOOD (well I'm passionate about food, but not back then), they owned a TOY store and then I went into business selling COSMETICS and moved on to JEWELLERY. I tried my hand at selling TYRES, I did promotional work selling ALCOHOL and NEWSPAPERS. I even sold PLASTERBOARD for a while but I couldn't stand hanging out at the strip clubs every Friday afternoon any longer!

Finally I found my passion and started selling MUSIC. This I loved and there was nothing anyone could do to stop me. My girlfriend and I set up business booking COVER BANDS and soon I was making a name for myself. But then the venues didn't want to pay gst and our whopping 10% profit disentegrated - it was back to working full time in an office.
Then I discovered somewhere I could sell GOOD MUSIC - GREAT MUSIC - MUSIC PEOPLE WANTED TO BUY, and I began my love affair with the world of PROMOTING. 3 years on and weary and worn out, I'd partied too hard but met some fantastic people.
It's a hard world to let go of, this "music industry" and so finally I have rediscovered my passion for EMERGING MUSICIANS. I've learnt why I love the music industry so much and it truly is all about THE PEOPLE. People who are risk takers, people who have never ever played inside the box, people who don't care what others think - they just DO.
So please join me in PRAISING all of these fantastic PEOPLE who selfishly indulge in self gratitude, introspective reflection and simply DAMN FINE MUSIC. We love you all and please NEVER STOP, you are the life force that keeps us all going. WE LOVE ALL YOUR MUSIC so THANK YOU.

I live in the world of music, unable to escape. The feeling you get when you stand right in front of the stacks as the opening beats begin to take over your heart beat. The roar of the crowd when the band hits the stage, the rocking and swaying of the entire room as the show transcends into one complete motion. The silence after the last song and the slow stamping of the feet as the encore is called, the even louder roar when the band re-emerges and performs their best ever work.
There's nothing like seeing a band perform live - no matter who they are or if you've heard or seen them before. There's always something to make you feel it, something to take you to another place, nothing you will find on a record or DVD and only the band t-shirt purchased on the way out the door will ever take you there again.
Mustang Promotions started out with a love of all things musical. My greatest desire is to see my bands on the world's stage - unable to compose themselves through sheer amazement of where they stand today. There's hundreds of people (not least the fans) that make a band great, and I am truly privileged to work in this inner sanctum that is the blood that runs through my very veins.

Influences: ON A MISSION TO GET LOCAL SUPPORTS BACK ON INTERNATIONAL TOURING ACTS

I remember a time, I'm sure, that it was a requirement of an International touring act to put a local support on the bill. Am I just seriously deluded or are there others out there that agree with me?
The last few tours have had international supports on the bill with them - what's with that? Kelly Clarkson / Sean Kingston - Sting / Fergie.
If I'm deluded and this was a never a requirement, we need to start lobbying the government to make it a requirement. At the very least, there should be one Aussie upstart on the bill - no excuses. Look at what Robbie did for Sneaky Sound System. I'm sure they had an excellent following previously anyway, but that's the first time I had seen/heard them and have been a mad fan ever since.
Would love to hear your thoughts.
Peace, love and all things rock and roll
ps: Comments to my blog would indicate I'm not deluded - please share your thoughts and help me with ideas on how to get this ruling changed back.{
I created this profile using the Skize.com MySpace Profile Editor which is really easy to use. You can also check out their other selection of MySpace Layouts !

"So what can Mustang Promotions do for you?" I hear you ask.
After nearly 2 years of developing our product, we're very close to the perfect offering (although things are always changing). We are committed to teaching anyone who'll listen that if you're trying to raise revenue from what you're doing, you're in business. And every business needs a Business Development Manager - and that's what we are. We look for every opportunity possible to get you heard and seen. If you have a particular goal in mind (getting on a bunch of festivals for example) we can help you reach it, if you need someone to do all the crap for you, we can do it, and if you want to know how to do it yourself, we can do that too.
Like we said, it's taken a while to get the product offering together, but it's become clearly evident that every business needs a good team around them to get things done, brainstorm new ideas, keep pushing you along when things get tough and be there for the high fives when everything works.
We currently work with BENJAMIN HOOPER (awesome, gorgeous & incredibly talented), THE QUILLS (brilliant - and cute), WARREN BENNETT (very smooth lyricist & musician) and STEVE NORTHEAST (the best rock you've heard in a long time). We partner with other people too and currently collaborate with ICE MANAGEMENT (rock chick extraordinaire) and EVA ROBERTS (such a way with words). Feel free to ask any of them how we work and I'm sure they'll give you the rundown.
We'd love to help you get where you want to go so if you want to know more give us a call, we're always up for a chat - and a listen to some new music. Our website www.mustangpromotions.com.au has more details too where you can sign up for our newsletter which has heaps of tips and ideas. Please take the time to support our musos on this site, share ideas and work together - the power lies with you all now - your time is finally here!
In the meantime, keep at it, success comes to those who have a great product and work hard to promote. Cheers, Mustang Sally
