Alan Boyle

Born on the northwest coast of Ireland, in his travels Alan Boyle has played on stages in Dublin, Rome and at the Festa della Musica in Florence. His first five-track EP Shallow Heart was recorded at Pulse Studios in Dublin shortly before relocating to Brisbane in 2005, and Alan has now returned to creating a career in music in his new hometown.In 2007, in addition to playing on the QUEEN ST. MALL STAGE as an emerging artist he picked up a Maton guitar as a winner of the ACOUSTIC IN THE PARK concert series and was a finalist in a showcase hosted at QPAC in the same year.The latter event led to two performances at the internationally-renowned WOODFORD FOLK FESTIVAL and Alan has since played in venues famous for good music all over Brisbane, in addition to appearances at BUDDHA'S BIRTHDAY FESTIVAL '08, the Brisbane City Library's ACOUSTICS ON SUNDAYS and as the opening act at this year's ZILLMERE MULTICULTURAL FESTIVAL.He has been engaged to play at the inaugural GREENFEST being held in Southbank Parklands in October this year, and has begun recording new material for an EP entitled Oxygen due for release in 2008.Alan Boyle has a sound and style all his own, a voice that seems to rise and tear from inside him like a storm, at once vulnerable and knowing with lyrics that travel the distance between him and the listener in the ripples of calm that follow….He is a journeyman finally come home, comfortable in his ever-changing skin.
