Bio

poly-
pref.
More than one; many; much: polyatomic. More than usual; excessive; abnormal: polydipsia.

omni-
pref.
a combining form meaning "all", used in the formation of compound words. Conveys a sense of 'allness'; collectively exhaustive.

presence
noun.
The fact or condition of being present. The part of space within one's immediate vicinity. A quality of poise and effectiveness that enables a performer to achieve a close relationship with his audience. Something (as a spirit) felt or believed to be present.
Matt Nelson and the Polyomnipresence.
What you are listening to are takes that Matt Nelson and The Polyomnipresence recorded live off the desk at Ezzy's house with the help of Dylan from Twisted Pair Productions.
These three musicians--each of them virtuosos in their own right--met once in a dark and murky bar in the depths of Brisbane, having shared a bill together (Matt solo, and Lee and David in Maverick).
Since that moment, these ecclectic blokes have worked together for hundreds of hours crafting songs with impeccable care and effort, handling each note with care and expression. Despite being seasoned performers, Matt Nelson and The Polyomnipresence is yet to perform as a trio. Being "just a band" is completely unacceptable. The gents assert that you can always tell when a band has been thrown together behind a soloist. Nelson's rich body of work has been torn to pieces and rebuilt with the individual sensibilities of Peeters (whose tasteful basslines can make someone taking a shit sound good) and Ezzy (whose sense of rhythm could make you dance to the sound of... well... someone taking a shit). Shit. Wee wee. Negligent.Peeters has also contributed a wealth of music, expanding the already broad abilities of Nelson and Ezzy, like making them play in 7, for instance. While retaining the organic response only acoustic music can evoke, the band frequently experiment with various effects and instruments, with the occasional flirtation with aleatory.Seamlessly integrating the good song-writing sensibilities of traditional compositional values, with innovative playing, bizarre tunings and time-changes, junk percussion, massive bass delays, in differing and complex song-structures, Matt Nelson and The Polyomnipresence can make you sigh, dance, forgive your enemies, sleep, or wake up in a cold sweat. Occasional but varying similarities have been drawn; The Tea Party, Primus, John Butler, Mogwai, The Waifs, Crash Test Dummies, Wintersleep.
A note about 'Polyomnipresence' for men who enjoy thinkingThe nature of 'omnipresence' as an abstract noun; a quality, is one we are (if not able to understand it, being that we inherently cannot) somewhat acquainted with. The notion can be, albeit in a limited fashion, conceptualised when one accepts the premise--perhaps erroneously--that there are a lack of certain limits within the limitations of our three-dimensional 'everything-ness', and the notion is one that contains and explains comprehensively those limitless facets of all things and non-things.
The obtrusive notion of 'Polyomnipresence' reiterates then reinstates the absurdities of this whimsical attempt to capture the unfathomable by creating a logical impossibility within the few remaining bounds of our dimensional reality.
A multi-God idiom; one which neither presents a certain eventuality as superior nor does it allow another to be overshadowed. Polyomnipresence is the concentric interpretive existence of all things entirely and in all capacities in and of itself, several times over, folding and cascading into one-another.
A fourth dimensional quality for a 3rd-dimensional absurdity. If it were a shape, it could be unfolded into a net 3-dimensional figure. Collective and contained, inter-reliant and self-sufficient. A cosmic dance of reason; with that which is collectively exhaustive by definition, being measured against the unmeasurable.
Matt Nelson and the Polyomnipresence
writes and creates "... a unique brand of acoustic guitar-based progressive-folk rock, characterised by sweet, angular guitar lines and an impressive vocal performance." -M. Whale [The Silent Ballot]
