Baron Field

About Me

Drawing on folk, country, blues and pop, the songs of Baron Field explore love, lonesomeness, travesty and triumph with a lyrical poignancy and in a vivid style like no other.
Having recently penned for folk rockers The Big Brass Bed and with a resume that includes stints with acts such as Murph, The Young Casuals, The Moonies and The Brother Man Dude, Baron Field is currently performing his engaging repertoire in solo mode armed with just acoustic guitar and harmonica.
The songs themselves range from half-lit shadow dramas detailing the age old story of runnin’ off with a stranger, to bluesharp fuelled rattlers about little more than lettin’ out the throttle on an open stretch of road, throw in the odd wrist-slasher tango and chug-along bile spitter about bustin’ up and makin’ out … or off … or both and you get the drift. Equal parts Hank Williams, Paul Kelly, Leonard Cohen, Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Nancy & Lee… Baron Field’s is an ever unraveling song of timeless appeal.
“lyrics (that) resonate through a smoky room of legionnaires, fallen angels and drunkards… disheveled, wordy excellence.” Time Off
