The Words

“The Words” formed mid 2007 in sunny Bunbury, Western Australia. With the “garage” beginning’s of your typical rock outfit, “The Words” have quickly built on an impressive start. There has been many gigs gone by, having played with the likes of “The Vasco Era” and “Jebediah”, and also with the Southbound Festival under their belt, playing alongside huge international and local acts, Kings of Leon and Spiderbait to name just a few.The band is made up of three cousins Ben, Dyl and Clint, and good mate Macca. Macca on drums isn’t any relation to the other three, but they all know he really wants to be, and he is making really good progress in working towards that. Well done Macca.With the bass swapping habits of the three up front, the heavy hitting of Macca back there, and the very diverse influences of all four members, they create a truelly unique blend of modern rock and roll. Reviewers have likened their sound to “early You Am I” , with a “Dandy Warhols Velvetness”.The band heads into the much acclaimed “Studio Couch” mid 2008 and will work with engineer Shaun O’callaghan in putting together the best of their most recent work, on their debut EP.
