About Me

............................................................ ............................................................ Wise Dog Records was finally born on a cold night in January '07 on a kitchen table in rural Warwickshire. Only 13 years, hundreds of bananas & gallons of Rioja in the planning, it now exists to nurture and bring you exquisite, gorgeous, original sounds from songwriters, musicians, artists & bands who deserve a wider audience. ............................................................ ............................................... ............................................................ ............................................................ . As is often the case with independent ventures, The Wise Dogs have limited funds but unlimited enthusiasm. We know that the latter is no substitute for the former in this "world" that is the music industry but we will try. And we will try hard. Wise Dog releases will probably never "bother" the charts, but we don't give a large tin of our favourite Pedigree Chum (with extra marrow) about that. That isn't why we're doing this. If we can help someone sell just a few more downloads or CDs, pull in just a few more people to their gigs, or simply reach a few more appreciative pairs of ears, then it will all be worthwhile. ............................................................ ........................................................We post (almost) weekly playlists of our current favourite listening in our Friday blog. .......................................................... ............................................................ .......................................................We're also rather fond of the following ............................................ ...Lozninger, Midlake, Monkey Swallows The Universe, Leonard Cohen, Einstellung, The Red Guitars, Kings of Convenience, Ray LaMontagne, Eyeless in Gaza, Joan As Police Woman, Beangrowers, James Yorkston, Chrissy Van Dyke, The A Forest, Nick Grey, Reeds, The Blue Aeroplanes, The Lazarus Plot, Monaco, The Go-Betweens, Nick Cave, Belle & Sebastian, White Light Parade, Stringmen, Peace Burial At Sea, Flaming Lips, We Start Fires, The Clash, Jim White, Grinderman, Arab Strap, 10,000 Maniacs, Frank Turner, Primal Scream, Nick Drake, Carina Round, Manda Rin, Tex La Homa, Mercury Rev, Deerhoof ............................................. ...and some wonderful songs by our myspace friends below ...
