RISEMANN. Produced and managed by Rob Pippan (founder of THE ZEP BOYS)
RISEMANN - Derived from Nathan Hein’s
original band RISE.
After the band, RISE, disbanded, Nathan
wanted to keep the name due to the enormous
history behind it and decided to call his
solo act RISEMANN. He was from a band
called RISE, he was a man of RISE and his
name was Nathan. Hence the double NN at
the end of RISEMANN.
After performing his original music around
Adelaide for 12 months, he came across
drummer Joel Stibbard who took a liking to
his style of playing and thought he could complement
Nathan’s original feel. They spent the
next six months perfecting Nathan’s songs,
while keeping a look out for a bass player.
It was by chance that Nathan would have a
general chat to a guy at his local gym. His
name was Neil Pearce and he was a self
confessed music lover and bass player,. He hadn’t played for the past 2 years due to family
and work commitments but was busting to
get back into the scene.
Having already tried out numerous bass players,
Nathan and Joel kept an open mind and
did not expect much from Neil when he arived
for his fi rst practice.
Their thoughts soon changed after their fi rst 2
hours together - Neil picked up 5 of Nathan’s
songs with the slightest of ease. It wasn’t just
how quickly he picked them up, but also the
original feel he put into the songs. After 3
practices the trio had a reportoire of 15 songs
completed, with Neil also starting to interact
with Nathan’s keyboard as well. The band
RISEMANN was born!
They began playing local pubs around
Adelaide, but having been disheartened by
the lack of success in the band RISE, Nathan
knew that their journey would have to break
down musical walls. Nathan met Susie Chester at the start of
2006. With her enthusiasm of loving Nathan’s
music and after making a few calls, she got
them a gig at The Darwin Fringe Festival 06
and became RISEMANN’s fi rst manager.
They featured at several main venues and
supported The Beautiful Girls at the Top End’s
biggest show during the Fringe to a sold out
crowd at The Darwin Town Hall ruins.
It was from that night that RISEMANN was
no longer a local original band. It gave the
boys the belief that they could perform to an
Australian crowd and win the hearts of those
who saw them.
They sold countless CD’s and signed autograph
after Autogragh. It was a night to
remember.
After returning to SA, RISEMANN then realised
they needed to have a debut Album. Their Manager, Susie, relocated to SA to
be close to the boys, but during the next 6
months it became apparent that their manager
was a 1 hit wonder. RISEMANN did not
expand on their success from Darwin and was
soon back playing to the small Adelaide pub
scene.
But this did not stop the drive of RISEMANN
in any way. Being the only Original outfi t to
be affi liated with The Cancer Council of South
Australia, they have been donating their time
and effort to perform for every Relay for Life
show in South Australia and donate 10% of all
their earnings to the Cancer Council.
RISEMANN’s soul purpose for the past 14
months has been for the making and release
of their Debut Album “New Evolution†Due to
be released in November 2007.
This will be the launch pad for RISEMANN
to take Australia by storm in 2008.
