In 2007 Squeaker launched their pre-release single ‘Jesus Ain’t My Boyfriend’, with their sound being likened to acts such as Garbage and Rogue Traders. In the same year their song ‘Reason’, engineered and produced by Dave Ross, won ‘Best Production’ in the Open Master category of SCALA’s FOOM 2007 Awards, they were chosen as a Hottest Pick in the internet based Toohey’s Extra Dry Uncharted Band Competition run by Sony BMG, and played a grand final performance in the Pure Blonde Winter Rock Wars Battle of the Bands.
In 2008 ‘Jesus Ain’t My Boyfriend’ was included on the Foghorn Records’ national compilation CD ‘Grow Your Own Upload Volume 2’ leading to a full house showcase gig with fellow SA inclusions Illicit Eve at the Wheatsheaf Hotel, and a Sydney showcase tour. In April Squeaker took first prize in the Cavern Club & Cecere's Battle Of The Bands Grand Final.
The band continues to work on their new EP due to be completed early 2009, while plans are being made to return to New South Wales and Victoria after it’s release.
