Hello everyone ,
Some people know me as sam(otacon28) on myspace from my musician profile as a drummer
I have thought about doing stand up comedy for years , so I decided I'm gonna get some material written and give it a shot for fun and see what may happen . I for as long as I can remember have been a fan of comedy as much as music . I somehow have always found a way of getting people to laugh at me most of the times without trying to be funny and just being myself ( people who have been around me through the years will know what I'm talking about a little more on this basically because of my personality ) . I have always enjoyed making others laugh just because this world needs laughter in it . This is something that I have even gone to lengths of making an ass out of myself to get a laugh and it never really bothered me in doing so . I have been writing some ideas lately on what I may use as some material to base a stand up act on and will look into hitting some open mic nights at comedy clubs once I get something together that I feel kinda fits what I'm about .
I have for years always been my own critic when it comes to playing drums and I have always played for the fact of just having fun so I want to approach this the same way . I really never wanted to be somone famous or be on T.V. or things like that through music I just flat out wanted to play for the fact of how it made me feel doing so . As I get things together on this more I will obviously post info. on here as well as other places on the net .
I just figured I'd share this and see what advice maybe some of the comedians I have allready have on my friends list as well as other people may have to say about this and any advice you may have . I have a few friends that are comedians and I have allready been picking their brains a bit for some insight as well .
Also if anyone knows of any good local comedy clubs / open mic nights that I may wanna look into I'd love to hear about them .
