About Me

Lovecraft 21C Productions is a film production company based in Sydney, Australia. Its raison d’être is to create and promote independent horror by producing its own films, and screening those made by other filmmakers working in the genre at Sydney, Australia's leading genre film event - A Night of Horror International Film Festival. The third annual festival is scheduled for Match 25 - April 3, 2009. Submissions are now open. For more details visit the festival's official site by clicking the following banner:
The company's name refers to the influential horror author H. P. Lovecraft, and one of the five competitive categories of A Night of Horror International Film Festival is dedicated entirely to the screening of short films inspired by his writings.
If you want to know more about Lovecraftian cinema the best place to start is Unfilmable.com - Check it out at the following link:

Who runs this myspace page?

My name is Dean Bertram. I'm a director of both Lovecraft 21C Productions and A Night of Horror International Film Festival, but the info on this page represents my own personal and eclectic tastes. I love film, particularly horror. And after having recently completed my PhD at The University of Sydney, I have returned to filmmaking and horror film promotion in a full-time capacity. I'm also a freelance writer, and have written for a number of national and international publications including: The Australian, People Magazine, Fortean Times, and The Australian Financial Review.
My most recently completed film, and the first that I have directed under the Lovecraft 21C banner, is FORESTA ROSSA: A dark fairy tale about a girl lost in a forest and the terrible sacrifice that she must make. The Italian title is an intentional homage to that country's history of extarodinary horror cinema.
