CURRENT NEWS / UPDATES
We are recording again! (yeah, still!)
With all drums, bass guitar, electric guitar and the keyboard parts (even the tricky ones!) now in the can, Christian has started to lay down the vocal tracks!
Stefan and Christian will then add some backing vocals.
Stay tuned for more updates!
Cheers, and Thanks for the support!

Medusa rose from the ashes of the now defunct Music Apartment in September 2006.
Before their 4 year stint in this popular Austrian Psychedelic Rock group who even have produced a Promo CD featuring 35 minutes of original material and are featured with two tracks on one of the in-demand samplers from Detour Records called "Takin A Detour"
Patrick Nagl (guitar) and Thomas Schmitzberger (drums) had been in the hugely popular Jaybirds (1989-2002) who opened for the Rolling Stones in front of 80,000 people on their Bridges To Babylon Tour, Summer 1998 and who are now playing special one-off shows again.
When Music Apartment were forced to take a break in the summer of 2006, Patrick and Thomas teamed up with Christian Loebenstein, formerly of Trigon (AT), Forty Fever and lead singer in the cult Rhythm & Soul outfit It’s A Snip , to form a new Power Trio and go into a rockier direction.
Medusa was born.
The band rehearsed intensively, preparing original material and selected covers, including a few surprises.
Their Live shows in Vienna throughout the spring of 2007 were a tremendous success and the guys were looking forward to playing in front of an audience regularly and recording a couple of tracks for a tentative autumn release.
With band activity coming to an unexpected halt from June to August 2007, Christian left the band with Patrick following suite.
However with loads of original material still unreleased, unrehearsed and unrecorded the two of them decided to continue Medusa and go into an even rockier and as it appears more progressive direction, recruiting powerhouse drummer Stefan Zeder of Garage Rockshow and Die 4 Glorreichen 7 fame!
The band is now back on the road and producing their first studio recordings. You can listen to exclusive snippets from these sessions in our music player!
Starting with a very well received show supporting the legendary Spooky Tooth in February and more gigs already lined up, 2008 appears to be another great year for the band!
(to be continued...)

THE SONGS / CREDITS
Scary Night
Music & Lyrics by Patrick Nagl
A song about a dream with DIOesque lyrics... ;-)
This was performed live by The Jaybirds earlier in this century but never recorded properly nor released officially!
Another exclusive preview of our first longplayer which is going to be released later this year!
Edge Of Life NEW ON THE SITE!
Music & Lyrics by Christian Loebenstein
What you hear in the preview is a very rough monitor-mix of the middle section. The whole song clocks in just before 7 minutes! It was originally written and demoed by Christian in March 1995 and then rearranged in 2001 and features beautiful layers of Mellotron, ... and some Hammond!
Also, note Patrick's jazzy octaving!
New Frontiers
Music & Lyrics by Christian Loebenstein
This song goes back as far as 1994, and a demo recording with piano, acoustic guitar, live drums and different lyrics was recorded sometime back in the day.
Our tribute to the Jack Bruce/Pete Brown classic Theme For an Imaginary Western in the style of Mountain.
This is an exclusive preview of the shape of things to come later in 2008 when our first longplayer is going to be available!
MORE MUSIC COMING SOON!
