THE MEAN MACHINE is a keyboard-wizzard 1-Kid-Kombo. She is member of DIE ETERNIAS, was in THE FLOW and MUSIC APARTMENT and loves sweet and heavy organ sounds and late 60s prog-rock. Her musical style is now kind of weird and seems to be one of the most spectacular ways of using the holy keys.
Miss Mean started playing the piano at the age of six, when she got her own electric piano for christmas. The following eight years she spent with concentrating on the holy works of Johann S. Bach, Beethoven, Händel and later on also Chopin and other leading lights in classical composition.
Aged fourteen she turned her back on the classical side of playing. She quit the piano lessons and decided to teach herself a new way of using the keys.
The first time she was trying to cover songs phonetically was very hard because it didn..t work so well, but after a while her skills began to grow.
At the age of seventeen she joined her first band, a 60s-garage-girl-group in which she was playing the Farfisa-organ. The group split after a few months. At that time Jazz-Mean bought herself a Hammond-organ and started writing her own songs.
Two years of composing and working on notation had passed by when she joined the psychedelic-band THE FLOW. They did some live shows together and also tracked four songs before their sudden split-up.
In spring 2005 she replaced MUSIC APARTMENT s keyboarder Jo, who had just quit the group. A year later they were invited by famous British 60s label Detour Records to contribute two of their finest self penned heavy psychers, now available on the third volume of the compilation series "Takin A Detour". Under mysterious circumstances the group finally came to a sudden halt in summer 2006.
..
At this time Miss Mean van der Machine did some sessions with Jakob Ludescher, the mastermind of C.G.JUNGLE, but finally she decided to go on by herself. She founded her own 1-Kid-Kombo THE MEAN MACHINE, which may be the finest and purest heavy prog spectacle.
Recently she joined Tulln's finest rockin' show-combo in disguise DIE ETERNIAS .
