i play the trombone for a living; primarily jazz and salsa, but really any style of music that the instrument can fit into. in new york lately i play with the mingus bands, a few jazz big bands, salsa bands, and my own band... i try to keep the schedule updated here, please come by for a live show!
i'm interested in the meeting points between things that on the surface might appear quite distant. i hope that comes out in my music sometimes too. certainly it has in my life. jazz, when the word is used at its broadest, i suppose, is one of those meeting points; through it people from all races and all parts of the world have been coming together to sing through things that otherwise sometimes seem insurmountable to pass.
