About Me

“About me”???…. Isn’t that what people do all day long? Enough about you! This is about me…Okay, brass tacks. Graduated The Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre where I learned to cry on cue. Got my SAG card in the first film I was ever in called Regarding Henry where my scene as a nurse was opposite Harrison Ford. No joke.. You can’t see me in the scene---but you can hear me. After that most memorable debut--- got bit, and I do mean bit parts as hookers, waitresses and more nurses in both big and small films. Moved to LA, where I almost landed a starring role opposite Julia Roberts. But that fell through. Instead I sold shoes for a year at Southcoast plaza at Nordstroms where I had a record. Yes, a record for threatening a customer, what I said was this,“Lady I’m going to kill you if you don’t buy this pair of shoes”…. ( I was being sarcastic but that didn’t fly in orange county ---I still think it’s funny).Needless to say, I steer clear of any Nordstroms even today.Moved back to the East coast for an off- Broadway play, got good reviews, and stayed in NYC. Did some on – air celebrity hosting for OXYGEN TV until they went under. Was almost a regular in two successful ABC pilots Felicity and Alias. Almost. Then picked up peculiar odd jobs to stay in an apartment I couldn’t afford on the lower East side.. .. I didn’t become a hooker, and I didn’t marry rich. I was offered both gigs and still question my decision against accepting either position. Meanwhile, I did have something good happen--- I sold a television pilot called Off the record twice. I never received a check for either sale. My agent questioned my luck and timing ,and frankly so did I.…. So, I rewrote the TV show into a some- what autobiographical film in a collaborative effort with writer/director/wunderkind Huck Botko (of Mail Order Wife fame). Spent the past year meeting with film/Theatre stars who loved the screenplay --- all over the country. And, who may, or may not (depending on how they are feeling), commit to our beautiful little film, called Lucky Them. Most recently, I started doing yoga, and book rockstars for charity events. That takes a lot of begging and other embarrassing antics. But, makes me feel like I'm doing my part in the world. You know, giving back instead of being a piece of wood?!!... Besides that, got a gig writing a column in a CT paper under the name of my character in the film. A marketing tool? You betcha. A book deal has been discussed. Am sure the offers will be pouring in momentarily…We are currently scheduled to shoot LuckyThem NYC after Mr. Botko finishes up another film in LA with Paramount Pictures/Will Ferrel’s company called Stewie. That film is about a 13 year old who loses their virginity. I am lobbying daily for the lead role.We are pleased (sort of) to have traveled this rocky film road even if we would never prescribe that anyone take it on themselves---even if they received, as they said at Nordstroms,’ “death threats”. That’s it in a nutshell, and if you finished reading this entire thing? Well, then,…lucky you.
