My Interests

Music:

Band Website: mattraymusic.com
Band Members: On Last Call and Lost Danton Boller -- bass, Quincy Davis -- drums. On Vista Rodney Whitaker -- bass, Greg Hutchinson -- drums, John Ellis -- tenor, Jeremy Pelt -- trumpet.

I usually play with my trio. I also work as a sideman with a lot of cool artists.

Please visit kiva.org to learn about my favorite microcredit organization. So far I have helped fund a fish monger in Uganda, a food saleswoman in Togo, and a merchant in Mexico. These are people running businesses that are desperately needed in their communities. You can be a direct part of making their lives better! You loan $$ to folks who would ordinarily be denied a loan from a bank, and you get all your principal back at the end of the loan term. It costs nothing! the default rate is close to zero. Check it out!

Influences: Gene Harris, Herbie Hancock, Ahmad Jamal, Tommy Flanagan, Red Garland, Keith Jarrett, Thelonius Monk, Geri Allen, Oscar Peterson.
Sounds Like: This is acoustic jazz, with bebop and soul jazz influences, as well as some modern inflections.

Record Label: CAP (Consolidated Artists Productions)
Type of Label: Indie
