BGS is available for collab and any opportunities where your music may want horns or a sense of humour!
(You gotta have a good sense of humour to love and play trombone!)
Born and Raised in Lilli Pilli, South Eastern Sydney, AUSTRALIA. BGS was subjected to music from an early age. Arthur Greenslade (Ben’s Grandfather-British Pianist/Arranger/Musical Director of note-Likes of Vic Lewis, Ted Heath, Shirley Bassey, Rod McKuen, Tom Jones etc) was a huge influence on BGS - lighting the passion to do music as something more than just a hobby. Equally, a debt of gratitude to Sean Joseph - The original Brass teacher.
BGS joined MI TIERRA, one of Australia’s top Timba/Salsa Latin Bands lighting the passion for this style of music - Latin greats such as Eddie Palmieri, Barry Rogers, Jimmy Bosch, Los Van Van, Chucho Valdes, Arturo Sandoval, Ruben Gonzalez, La Clave and many others!
"If a composer could say what he had to say in words
he would not bother trying to say it in music." - Gustav Mahler

Sounds Like: *FUERZA
which is BGS’ brainchild.... a Tentet with 4 horns and 6 rhythm playing original music written by members of the band with the odd splashing of some ’covers’ from composers whom we dig. Stylistically we cover the gammut of our musical tastes. Latin, Funk, Jazz, House, Hip Hop. EVERYTHING. As long as it is honest, true, and from the soul we are happy!!! Recently we have had CARL ORR in on guitars as well as previous guest percussionist ROBIN JONES

’Ecstatic Latin jazz groove cauldron overlaid with ’phat’ pumping riffs from the wild men of the bristling horn section ala Tower of Power with a smattering of hot metal guitar - a joyful blast from young vibrant band to shake up the London scene.’
-Paul Pace . Promoter-Spice Jazz / Manager Rays Jazz At Foyles

Sounds Like???

Impossible Question. I prefer to have original music in my own groups and endeavour to ensure there is something modern, new, exciting and interesting in everything i do musically. Sure you could compare our stuff to others but if it sounds EXACTLY like a carbon copy of whatever i like listening to, well........whats the point???
Hopefully you will make your own decisions about my music and my projects!
ENJOY!!!
