CUT THE MIDRANGE, DROP THE BASS!!

About Me

'Cut the midrange, Drop the bass!!'MC, DJ, producer, musician, writer, artist... Nino has done it all. From his tiny bedroom in Harlesden NW London to Sarm West and Olympic recording studios, he has worked with an absolutely astonishing array of artists throughout his career, performed in front of over 1 million people on stages all over the world, and written, produced, played, mixed, remixed or featured on tracks which collectively constitute over 1 million record sales. Forming his first band at 12 years old with Paul Owen (Jazz & The Bros Grimm) and DJ Keith Dyce (DJ Keith Dyce, Bros Grimm), he then put together the Funkasaurus Freakaristic Soul Sound System, playing funk and rare groove house parties in the North West London area and produced his first record at 15 for soon to become Jetstar reggae singer Micheal Tarone (Slim Batson). He went on to become a member of the legendary Production House stable of producers and, in collaboration with jungle and hardcore producer extrordinaire Floyd Dyce produced some of the finest music on the scene. His electro-breaks rap track 'Living A White Lie' caused a stir on UK rap charts and his self-produced second release 'Satisfaction' as alter-ego MC Juice hit the Dutch national top ten, followed by underground rap succeses 'Freak In Me' and 'Five-O', and saw him open for UK soul star Omar at his historic first concert at the Hammersmith Odeon, tour the UK and Europe with his 'Freshly Squeezed' dancers, and hit the Music Week R&B charts with tracks for Lace, Samantha Scott (Raw To The Core, Singer's Paradise, PH Special Reserve) and JJ. Meanwhile, he teamed up with Dice's to form The House Crew, (Keep The Fire Burning, The Theme, Superhero) and was so in demand as an MC for Acen and DMS that he practically lived between the studio and the stage. Even rock god Bono of U2 came backstage to give him praise for his lyrical skills at Acen's gig in New York! His solo outing 'The Future Of Latin / The Gun' (Production House) smashed into the dance chart soon after, as did his rework of DMS's 'SOS (Gunshot remix)' and 'Euphoria (Nino's Dream) for the House Crew. His legendary lyric 'Underground is where we wanna go, movin'...House The Crowd!', from his rap on 'All We Wanna Do..' (The House Crew), took things to a new level as the killer sample on arguably the most influential track of its genre; Baby D's Dice written 'Let Me Be Your Fantasy', and along with Dice the band took the new sound to the masses, with live P.A's at the biggest raves. Most of the hardcore already knew the crew, as Production House were one of the most prolific independent labels around, and DMS, Acen, Baby D, House Crew, Bros Grimm, X-Static and Nino had been ripping up shows for over three years previously. When 'Let Me Be....' finally got picked up by London Records in 1994 it changed the game forever, going to the National number one spot immediately, and while Dice set up his own studio, Nino took over production and mixing duties to complete the band's seminal album 'Deliverance', scoring national hits with Korgis cover 'I Need Your Loving' (..3) and the self penned 'So Pure' (..3). Th album reached Number 5 in the national charts; a phenomenal success for a tiny indie lable from Kensal Rise! But that wasn't enough for Nino. He collected the very first MOBO award (Baby D, Best Dance Act) and over 20 gold and silver discs for BPI sales, and never content to be pigeon-holed he then wrote another National chart number one hit for none other than Peter Andre (yes, really) and hit the charts again with remixes for the Backstreet Boys and Eternal. Saint Ettienne's Sarah Cracknell sought him out to remix her gorgeous solo track 'Anymore' (GUT Records), his Factory Mix of The Levellers 'One Way' is still a collectors item, and he teamed Choice FM and UK hip-hop queen Phoebe 1 with his remix of Don Ricardo's 'First To Know' (Ruff Cut). Darkman linked him for a remix of his hit 'Brand New Day' as one half of production team T&K, and live performances took him to both East and West Germany, France, Spain, Holland, Turkey, Miami, New York, Chicago, Switzerland, Iceland, Austria and more. Sunrise, Raindance, Mythology, Euphoria, Moondance, Cream@Ministry, Pacha, Es Paradis, Camden Palace, SeOne, SW1, Raveology, Helter Skelter, Epedemik, Innovation, Back2Basics, Sunshine, Satisfaction and countless UK venues have all seen Nino take the crowd higher alongside DJ's such as Fantasy, Ellis Dee, Ratpack, Food Junkie, Hype, Squirrell, Top Buzz, Sy, Slipmatt, SS, Enzyme & Malice, Stu & Nee, and after three years of travelling back and forth to Ibiza, 12 shows headlining Kiss FM's KISSTORY Legends tour throughout the country, 6 months of chill-out grooves DJing at the famous Cottons Rhum Shack in Chalk Farm NW1 and a packed 3 month weekly DJ residency with MC Micro at the Chelsea Conrad's ultra-chic Aquasia Bar we finally see Nino back in his new studio, linking with the Music Industry Rebel's crew, old skool royalty The Ratpack and Dave 'Leggz' Longmore of the Ruff & Tumble crew, as well as future breakbeat dons Stu & Nee of Enormous Mouse Records. The saga continues with forthcoming DJ & MC sets at Camden's Bar Solo and Bar Vinyl, Cottons II in Islington, new tracks 'Feel Free' with Baby D and Micro and 'The Culture' jungle EP and of course the ongoing Baby D live sets all over the world.
