Boulevard Soundsystem

The Boulevard Soundsystem was formed in North Wales and was initially targeted to the student populace of the University of Wales, Bangor.Boulevard's head honcho is Lambros Fatsis who has been DJing professionally since 2004 and plays a mix of soul, reggae, jazz funk, boogie and rare groove. In 2004 he started working for clubs and venues in North Wales and soon founded the Boulevard Soundsystem, playing in clubs across London, around the UK and Europe.He has played as a guest DJ at numerous UK clubs and bars, and Festival work includes the 2005 Snowdonia Nights Out Gazette annual festival and a special guest appearance for the Battersea Arts Centre Octoberfest also in 2005. Recent residencies include Hendre Hall in North Wales, Academi Bar in Bangor and BarGuruBar in Athens.Other DJ work experience includes DJ'ing for the University of Wales Bangor Summer Ball 2005 (Racubah! tent), and two special guest appearances at Agora Bar in Syros island (Greece) and Underground Bar at the LSE Students’ Union.Sensing that there was an enormous gap in the musical scene of the area and armed with the belief that the cohort of the Boulevard DJs possessed the necessary skills and energy to fill this gap, the first Boulevard events made their debut in N.Wales nightlife and were extremely successful from the very beginning.The profile of the Boulevard Soundsystem could be described as nothing more than a vibrant collective of DJs that are interested in promoting musical diversity that transcends boundaries with particular emphasis to the so called black sound of the African diaspora.
