Timo Lassy is a Helsinki-based sax player who likes his sound BIG. There´s the bluesy and soulful undertone as well as the spiritual side to be heard in his playing. As The Guardian´s John L. Walters put it: â€Saxophonist Timo Lassy has storytelling approach to solosâ€. Baritone, tenor or flute, Timo will deliver. Timo has played in many outfits, such as the Blue Note recording U-Street All Stars, Teddy Rok 7, Jimi Tenor and the mighty Five Corners Quintet and has performed from New York to Istanbul.

In 2006, Ricky-Tick Records released Timo Lassy's first solo 12" EP African Rumble/High At Noon, and the single "The Call/Sweet Spot" was released in spring 2007. These two tracks gave a foretaste what was about to follow!
Timo´s debut album titled “The Soul & Jazz of Timo Lassy†was released by Ricky-Tick Records in Finland and Japan in the summer, and the rest of Europe and the US followed in autumn 2007.
