The Surfrider Foundation is...
...a grassroots, non-profit, environmental organization that works to protect our oceans, waves, and beaches. Founded in 1984, Surfrider Foundation's most important coastal environmental work is carried out by Surfrider Foundation's 60 chapters located along the East, West, Gulf, Puerto Rican, and Hawaiian coasts.
Recently the St. Augustine and Jacksonville Chapters of Surfrider combined to create the First Coast Chapter. For more information visit our official chapter website or the message board .

Accomplishments of First Coast Surfrider include:
    "Adopt an Access" program approved by the City of Jacksonville Beach. The chapter now landscapes and maintains the 16th Avenue South beach access.
    We won the law suit against St. Johns County over blocked beach access. Read the latest news.
    The Florida Open Beaches Act is currently in drafting in the Florida Legislature.
    Monthly beach clean-ups with the Sisters of the Sea .
