A special thank you to everyone who came down to Cedar Beach on September 23, 2007 to make our Annual Pasta Jam a HUGE success! With your help, we were able to remove almost 600 lbs. of garbage from the beach!Thank you for making it a fun and memorable day for us all.
In case you haven't noticed, each year there are more people living near the beach, more people on the beach and in the water. We all want to live on the coast. More people means less public access. Developers want to create exclusive resorts. "Exclusive" is code for "private beach." Open to only resort guests and property owners. The Texas Open Beaches Act guarantees public beach access, but developers and local politicians have found loopholes in the law to exploit. They do it a little bit at a time, so you won't notice. But over a couple of years there are fewer public access points and parking areas.
