About Me

Rented a surfboard in Galveston in the summer of 1963. Got hooked. Got my driver's license the next summer, and have been surfing ever since. One of the organizers of Surfrider Foundation Texas Chapter. The first chapter in Texas. We now have chapters in: Houston (Texas Chapter), Austin (Central Texas Chapter), Corpus Christi (Coastal Bend Chapter), and South Padre Island (South Texas Chapter). We are organizing chapters in San Antonio, DFW, and Galveston.Texas is the only state with an Open Beaches Act. This law guarantees that all Gulf of Mexico beaches are public. They belong to you, not the front row beachhouse owner, not the hotel or condo. Surfrider is fighting to preserve your right to access and use the beach.Get involved. You'll be glad you did.
