Surfrider was awarded winner of the April 2007 MySpace Impact award for Environmentalism
“It doesn’t matter who you are or where you live, everyone knows that our oceans should be clean. With the help of our activists and our MySpace page we motivate others to take responsibility for their coastline, waves, and beaches, and to be more conscious of the day to day choices they make. MySpace is such a supportive community and an unexpectedly great way to garner support and friends on all of the issues we are working on. We rely on every single friend that we have now, and that we will have in the future to carry on the important work that we do here. Not only will we be able to apply this Impact Awards prize to important campaigns all around the world, but the value of the new friends that this award will direct our way is absolutely priceless. Growing awareness will lead us to the future members, activists and leaders of our Surfrider Foundation community.†– Matt McClain, Director of Marketing and Communications
