About Me

..
What’s most entertaining is the fact that we are all different. Yet our physical makeup, our human body and our capability for love is very similar.
I was born in New York City in 1960 and it's my home, but my roots are in Oklahoma.
I make my living working in NYC, at Associated Press, Eastman Kodak, USA Network, spending my last ten employment years working at New York University Tisch School of the Arts. TSOA is now known as the Maurice Kanbar Institute of Film, Television & New Media at NYU. I've also taken courses of animation at the School of Visual Arts in New York.
My goal is to become professional in the next few years as a director and tell some stories.
I'm married to a beautiful woman and I have two beautiful children...
My father, George W. Cornell, Associated Press Religion Writer, past away in 1994. During World War II he served as an infantryman of the Black Hawk division. Never boasted about his combat during the war, but he always enjoyed good conversations. He was in charge of the Daily Pacifican, an army newspaper published in the Southwest Pacific theater. His articles have appeared in various magazines and he is the author of five books, Voyage of Faith, The Untamed God, Behold the Man, The Way And Its Ways, and They Knew Jesus...
He was born 1920 in Oklahoma. He met another native Oklahoman, my mother who was also born 1920. Both were journalists who married and moved to New York City...
My mother, JoAnn Gibson Reeves, was born in Purcell, OK. She was a Delta Delta Delta sister of Oklahoma University, an equestrian instructor, barrel racing McAlester Prison Rodeo Queen, and Entertainment Journalist for The Oklahoman. She later became a Real Estate Agent then retired in 1992 on her farm, The Windy Haven. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2000.
I left NYC temporarily to live on her farm and take care of her.
While weeding out the land, the Twin Towers were struck. Such a horrific loss of lives, I wanted to be home.
My pride in America is strong as a Democrat and I am grateful to the young men and women who serve our country. I believe in freedom for all and I thank them for protecting my freedom.
Trying to get a people to fight for a democracy that doesn’t correlate with their beliefs or their understanding is it possible? Especially after bombing their home? Sending in our young and strong, our sons and daughters, to keep the peace and fight those against America on foreign soil doesn’t make good sense to me. You don’t reach in a hole to catch a badger.
You can’t fight battles for others unless they have already risen up against oppression themselves. If we are fighting the battle for them, it is natural that people will try to stay out of harms way.
Wars benefit big companies. This war in Iraq will cost about three trillion dollars that taxpayers will need to pay. Talk about a tax increase, not to mention how much oil has been used to feed this war. This war is similar to adding another state the size of Texas to the U.S. and paying for the utilities. That three trillion dollars could have helped the next generations Social Security issues, as well as many other issues in the U.S., including healthcare. President Bush has given the U.S. a burden that will out live my life and it will burden the next generation.
We need to unite this world. Good deeds are contagious and America can still be a leader recognized for the rights to freedom.
Every weapon ever made has been used, so making nuclear weapons is not such a good idea. If eradication through nuclear annihilation happens it will be hard for the planet to heal.
Sometimes there is a need to take up arms defensively. After no weapons of mass destruction were found I thought we should get out. With all our technology we made a wrong assumption. The CIA informant Curve Ball was found to be not reliable for the biological weapon site information that President Bush was siting as the reason for going to war. Three weeks before we went to war this information became available to the President, showing there was no proof of weapons of mass destruction. To find out Iraq was not directly responsible for 9/11 was another blow from the Bush push for war. Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me.
Educating how to live in order to create humane civil laws we can all live with, bonding humanity, saving children are human traits to be proud of. Our planet is small and we can do better.
I pray for peace for the young men and women who fight for us and for those who die for us. May we honor them. I pray for peace for those civilians caught in the crossfire. May we remember them.
War creates hate. Hate is part of our makeup. It is the beast inside. Hate follows our religions, our wars and neighbors with those who do believe and those who don’t. Hate is taught and can spread like wildfire. It's a deep embedded emotion. Hate is ignorance, vengeance, fear, prejudice and lack of common sense. Hate makes it impossible to forgive. Hate is not healthy for the body, so peace can be a righteous desire.
War is never admirable and I believe shows a sign of human regression. Instead of sending bombs we can send laptops and access to the Internet. With our capitalistic advertising we could start the revolution from here. The terrorist’s hunt is the new scare, but it has always been here and is not new. If we leave Iraq are we cutting and running, leaving a civil war we are responsible for?
The first thing you do to break up a conflict is to separate those having the fight. Then you talk to both sides to work it out. That’s what you do with children.
I like what Will Rogers once said, “If you’re stuck in a hole, you don’t keep digging deeper to get out.”
Food, medical care, teaching how to be self-sufficient, education and communication are keys to helping the world's problems.
“The truth will set me free, but first it will make me miserable,” is what my mother use to say. We follow what we believe to be true, until we find out otherwise.
My heritage is a pioneer mix of English, German, Scotch Irish and Cherokee. I was brought up Episcopal and pray my ancestors be at peace with each other.
The wolf is my totem animal. In folklore there is a tale of two wolves that battle. One is Evil. The other is Good. If wondering which will win, question which is fed more. We attract what we think. Don’t feed the Evil. A wolf is cautious of humans which makes it a survivor.
I believe in respecting other beliefs and values if they teach "good" human characteristics. Free consciousness separates us from the animal world. With it comes the ability to manifest "good" or "evil." It is important to learn about this in this life.
Psychology in the study of human nature should be taught. Public Schools do not offer children education in human development and have limited the Arts. These tools that could offset childhood depression that lead into self-hurting habits are not being given to children, but rather medication is.
It is fascinating to be part of this transparent Internet revolution in cyber space. Our decade will be remembered for a global renaissance of communication. May it flourish with great teachers of peace.
Okay, here’s a little father's instinct. With any communication one needs to be aware of parasites that prey on the innocent; players who trick those who want relationships out of their money. Most common tricks are depleted joint bank accounts, loans never paid back, cell phone and rent bills never paid back, or sending packages overseas with items that were charged on some poor victim's credit card. You have your work at home get rich scams asking for money to get you started or U.S. cash needed to unlock large amounts of foreign currency. Hackers are phishing for your password for fun. There are derailed minds, sexual predators, and deceptive fake profiles. Accept only friends you believe are original, after awhile you'll recognize the fakes. When visiting a profile watch-out for what appears to be a Microsoft download to prevent a malicious virus, it’s a fake. Be aware of comment advertisements that after clicking on them a fake sign on pop-up asks you to type in your password. These folks are stealing profiles. You can delete these comments, or better yet set your profile to preview comments before they go on your profile. Be sure you type your password only at www.myspace.com. Warn your friends if you see bulletins of junk mail from their profile. Keep a backup of your profile subjects in Word documents. Be careful with your information out here. Now go have some fun!
I have cabin fever. Death is at my door wanting to come in. There are animals all over this place. This is not a movie...yet.

If you ask my opinion, I'll say it as I see it, then I'll think about it and change it again. Each person is a critic and you develop tough skin in this business. I think art is always flowing, changing. I find it healthy to ask questions. I work with bare bone budgets. If something goes wrong which it always does, I don't quit. "Success is failure turned inside out."
I have a sense of humor about my own work. I aim for professional looks in cinematography. Visually I like wardrobes and sets to have a touch of dirt when needed.
When making a production I look about to see who and what I have access to. I ask what is going to make a ticket price worth it? I have stories to tell. My productions get people to work together for a few weeks or months on a goal. It's expensive, but my heart is there.
I strive for the best presentation I am capable of. Often it is a crooked path that leads one to their lifetime career. For me it's still out there somewhere, maybe behind the next door.
I also enjoy scuba diving & snorkeling in the Ocean!
I don’t wear diamonds or gold but I enjoy seeing the ones I love sparkle! Coexistence, understanding exponential growth of our population, tragedy of the commons, maintaining creation and the waters of the Earth will determine human existence. The Ocean has food for everyone but cyanide, oil spills, nuclear waste and other poisons can destroy it. All the world's knowledge is under a blue sky, which is a reflection of the waters on this Earth. Can the solutions be any more obvious?

Heroes:

My Mother is a hero. She made a conviction to get help regarding her alcoholic addiction. Those who made themselves available and drove her to AA Meetings are heroes and all those who take time in their own life to helping others. My Father is a hero for always supporting her.
I’ve experienced and have been desensitized that falling down drunk is funny and cute, yet it leaves one very vulnerable. Can't stop what is praised or encouraged. “I need a friend.” “I need to laugh.” “The reason for why drink?” has so many creative emotional answers that they are multiples of excuses. The brain is very clever during denial. "Easy does it." I avoid alluring confidence in drink and search for confidence in physical tasks though my mental confidence is less certain. “We all want to laugh and we all would like to have good friends.”
Heroes are in my life all the time, my wife, parents, my children, family and friends. And there are those heroes who inspire me: Jesus, Ghandi, Martin Luther King Jr., and in the business, Bob Geldof, John Canemaker, Chuck Jones, George Stoney, George Heinemann, Al Pacino, Martha Graham, Boris Karloff, Stanley Kubrick, Luhrmann Baz, Nick Park, Ang Lee, Tim Burton, Steven Spielberg, John Carpenter, Wes Craven, John Waters, James Cameron, Mel Gibson, Roman Polanski, Curtis Hanson, Ron Howard, Clint Eastwood, Oliver Stone, Alfred Hitchcock, Ray Harryhausen, Frank Capra, Danny Glover, Nicole Kidman, Pierce Brosnan, Rebecca DeMornay, Kathy Bates, Angelina Jolie, Kim Basinger, Alec Baldwin, Dustin Hoffman, Robert Duvall, Jerry Lewis, Carol Burnett, Bill Cosby, Jane Fonda, James Stewart, Henry Fonda, John Wayne, Katharine Hepburn and Charlie Chaplin to name a few.
My Grandfather is a hero for telling me to never borrow money. Get collateral if lending. With credit cards he'd say "Paying for the lender's night out on the town just doesn't make good sense. Does it?"
One of my favorite skits on SNL is when Chris Parnell tries to sell his debt solution book to a confused Steve Martin and Amy Poehler. “Seriously, if you don't have the money don't buy it.”
My advice is own things that increase in value instead of decrease in value. Pay off debt if it is increasing faster than your savings or investments.
All of you who have quit expensive habits that are hurting you, smoking, drinking, pills, needles, or quit anything that ages you ... you're a hero. My wife and I quit smoking cigarettes and we don't look back. If you live with each other it helps to do it together. It helps when you do it for yourself.
Sometimes you must leave those you feel are your friends if they keep you connected with your addiction. Sometimes you must change your surroundings and the places you visit. Withdrawal from any substance the body has gotten use to will temporarily result in depression and pain. The key word is “temporary.” This anger that swells inside and is hard to get through is the body rejecting this new plan of yours to be free. This is when you must be the Master. Depression may follow. This is when having support helps. Changing something in your life is tough and uncomfortable. There is a time in everyone’s life when dreaming no longer satisfies, but it's sometimes all we have for the moment. Write down your strategy and post it somewhere you can see it.
So what’s the payoff for getting straight? One won’t be so scary, their body will look better, they won’t have to pay medical bills as much in the future, and they won’t burden their family and friends. They will start to accept the child that’s still inside them, the one that wanted happiness in the first place and they’ll save money becoming stronger with self-confidence and become what they originally wanted to be. Now that’s sexy!
Take advantage of every opportunity that comes your way. If you have a roof over your head, a full belly, and our government is offering free education until you turn eighteen take advantage of it. Stay in school. Milk it for every dime it’s worth and go for your American Dream. You’ll be better equip.
Support sex education in school! Make condoms cool or don't have sex! Teen birthrate is on the rise in America. Students who either get no sex education or are in abstinence-only programs are twice as likely to experience a teen pregnancy as those who receive comprehensive sex education. At least one out of every four teenage girls in our country has a sexually transmitted infection. US citizens living with HIV has surpassed a million people. - (CDC) and you know there are some other nasty things you don’t want to catch, so protect each other.
ON MY TO DO LIST IS TO GO IN A SHARK CAGE!..

It's nice how those you know about become parts of your world because they inspire you in ways you have no control of. An author, writer, singer or poet works with words. An actor creates believable characters. An artist rearranges material for interpretation. All take on life challenges and create fresh stimulation. May their crafts inspire a better world. We see only what we are ready to see. We hear only what we are ready to hear. How we change and look back at times of trouble is good to keep in perspective. Peace Be With You!
