Background Info:The Avengers is a cult-classic television program that originally aired on ITV in England from 1961 to 1969. The show was created by British television legend Sydney Newman and is one of the most successful British television shows ever exported to the United States. The Avengers has developed a fan following that spans the globe and continues going strong more than 30 years after the show ended. It was succeeded by a popular followup called The New Avengers in 1976.
